Ticket Collection Question

Hi All,

I'm planning a trip to Disney World in May this year. All is going well and I've managed to organise most things already.

I do have a couple of questions that I'm hoping people here might be able to answer.

I've organised my Disney tickets locally here in Australia. I know I'll get a voucher that I will need to exchange for the actual Disney tickets when I arrive at one of the parks.

I have also organised a breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table for around 0830. This was to be day 1 at any of the resorts. My question is (I know I took a long time getting to it :) ) how early in the day can I exchange the voucher for the actual ticket so I can get into the park. Given I have an early reservation, I'm thinking it might be tight (if not impossible) to get to the Magic Kingdom, exchange the voucher for the ticket and get transportation to the castle in time for and 0820 reservation. Any thoughts/advice here.

My more realistic plan is that I will go to the Magic Kingdom the day before for the sole reason of exchanging the voucher for the ticket at the ticket counter. This will just give us more time and given we are spending day one settling in, it would be more 'stress free'. My question doing it this way is, am I able to drive in and park somewhere to get the ticket only - without having to pay the $14 car park fee?

Thanks in advance, it's been 17 years since my wife and I have been to WDW and it's the first time with our 2 daughters, we're counting down the days :)

First of all, welcome to the boards! You should also be able to exchange your voucher for tickets at the Ticket and Transportation Center. I would advise getting it done the day before so that you are not feeling rushed in the morning before your dining reservation. That way if you may have the time to snap a few photos on Main Street USA on your walk up to the castle. Safe journey and enjoy your trip

If you want to exchange your voucher the day before, you can drop by Guest Relations at Downtown Disney and they'll take care of you. No parking fee required.

@pixiesteno - thanks for the welcome and the advice, we're all getting v excited about the trip, the next 3 months can't go fast enough :)

@Monty - That's a great suggestion, thanks. It does seem a bit pointless to have to pay for parking just to get tickets so the Downtown Disney option sounds like a good one.

Either way, I'll be changing the tickets over the day before now. No point being stressed trying to exchange the voucher for tickets and watching the time tick by on the breakfast morning...

The thought of travelling down Main Street without anyone there, taking photos of both that and the castle without the crowds sounds great. I think our girls are going to have a great day 1 with a CRT bfst kicking the day off!!!

This past Dec I also had an AP Voucher and DHS let me in with it without paying for parking. Not sure if this is the norm though.
But I would try to take care of it the day before, it will be alot less stressful getting to your reservation.

You get free parking with an AP, not with MYW tickets.

I am surprised that you did not have to pay for the parking. They typically will make you pay for the parking and when you get to guest relations to activate the AP they will refund you the cost of parking. It ends up being free no matter what with an AP.

Definitely do DTD. We often have FLorida Resident vouchers to exchange and there is hardly ever a line at DTD and the when you get to the park you can just go in and enjoy!
