Tiana's Restaurant

I just saw Princess and the Frog and I was thinking that a themed table service restaurant based off the movie would be great in Liberty Square or the American Adventure. In the movie, Tiana dreams of opening up her restaurant. I'm pretty sure its called "Tiana's Place" in the movie, if so it would fit in perfectly in either of the aforementioned locations. What do you guys think?

I honestly can't imagine "Tiana's Place" fitting in anywhere at WDW. I doubt many people would want to deal with going all the way out to POFQ for a meal.

The only place this would work would be Cafe Orleans at DL, which is located right in the middle of Mardi Gras central with the giant Riverboat passing by out front....just like the movie. All they'd really have to do is change the name of the restaurant. The theming is already there.

I thought the same thing when I first heard this idea mentioned on another forum. I would like to see a bit of a menu update along with it, though. I find the selections there now a little boring. I would love for a Tiana's Place at Port Orleans French Quarter, but I wouldn't expect a character meal there. Just a nice New Orleans jazz era-themed sit-down restaurant at my favorite moderate would make me happy.

Tom Sawyer Island.

Build a walkway underneath like DLP has, and bingo. A decent sized NOS with Tiana's restaurant.

Did Disney ever build a Princess Tiana themed restaurant?
No they did not, and the ideal place for Tiana's restaurant is new Orleans square over at Disneyland. Although it'd be cool there is no place it would fit in at Magic kingdom..However if they were to build a restaurant as a bonus to visiting port Orleans resort and have it be just as nice as something you could find in the park, that would be a different story entirely.

A) On the 1 to 10 scale, how was the movie?? ....and B) Not to shoot down your idea, but Port Orleans French Quarter would thee ideal place for a character meal/movie tie-in spot.
Agreed. Neither of the suggested locations "fit" very well, but the PO resorts would work nicely, especially if they included some non-Cajun kind of food. Some of us non-foodie people with juvenile palates still taste "spicy and burnt" when we eat Cajun food.

DL, too, seems like an excellent place.

Agreed -- this has been discussed on "fantasy restaurant" threads quite a bit lately. POFQ is the only moderate lacking a TS restaurant and a theme of "Tiana's Palace" has been handed to Disney on a silver platter. Their decision to ignore this tie-in is really a lost opportunity.
