AK is one of the worst places to take decent pictures, and I can't explain why. I suspect that project is going to be fairly boring to watch grow. We'll see.

As for details though, check these out just from this year. There's actually a lot going on :)

There's 2 things I'm really amazed by here, first is how much gotten done on the Mine Train in just 2 months, and second is how consistent the angle of his photos is, he's really got that flight plan down

As always, thank you for the pictures!

Any chance that you got a shot of the area near the Yankee Trader with the new path and restrooms being constructed?

What I mean is supports and track going vertical. In my field, we call stuff that's going on right now "setting the table". There's maintenance talk for ya :wave

I'm sure we are several months out from seeing supports for the actual track. I think most of the stuff going vertical is for the maintenance building and inside parts of the ride. What do you think since your in that field?

I think your right about the vertical stuff. Track I bet is either on site already or is being delivered.

When it comes right down to it, right now the main focus of construction is the footers. You have the foundation yes. But it appears they are making footers right now for the support structure of the coaster. For those of you wondering, they dont just bolt the supports into that foundation. They always try and get footers for that. Once those footers are complete, then things are going to pick up. Now is the prime time to get started on those footers. I wouldn't be suprised to see track and supports rising by summer to be honest.

If you look closely at picture 2 of 6 I think you can also see the beginning of the side for the larger tent.

Good catch. I missed that my first few times through the update, but going back you can clearly see the blue on blue stripes starting!

i know it's a silly question, and disney probably has a plan for it, but how are they going to get the big yellow crane out?
wont it crack the pavement?

Anybody else notice the "hidden Mickey" with the tent and two round foundations going in below it? Wonder if it'll get fleshed out as construction continues...

Great pics. I lurked on the site for a few weeks before joining, so this is my first reply post on here. My wife and some of our family members are heading to WDW the first week of December of this year, and can't wait to see what is in store for us when we get there. Last visit for us down there was Christmastime 2009. Last visit for my dad (who will be going with us) was summer 1986, when I was 10. I really hope they do it justice. FL in Florida really looks cheap compared to FL at DL in Cali, which is a shame considering all the extra room that WDW had to build originally. I think that New Fantasyland will redeem that downfall of WDW. Don't get me wrong, I love WDW and have been nearly a dozen times there and nearly a dozen times to DL (since I'm in Cali now), but they skimped on some of the rides like POTC and Small World down there.

And this comes from a guy who didn't visit DL until being grown up and already had been to WDW 8 times.

You're welcome, thanks for appreciating :)

I keep forgetting that little area - but I did notice that they've spread the stroller parking-lots around since the big one is gone.

I managed to get part of that area in the corner of this frame. Best I have for now, unfortunately:

Thanks! And I too have noticed the stroller parking change... that part of Fantasyland is even more clogged than usual with the large amount of strollers and Spring Break crowds going through there. Once all this expansion is done, Fantasyland will be be much better flowing, with the only real squeeze point being between small world and Peter Pan.

What are you referring to as "footers.". Foundations are "footers."

Your eye is correct. It is the base for more rocks.
Which leads me to believe that the show building for Dumbo is complete except for maybe a few trees. Why did TDO go to such great lengths, it seems, to hide a small part of TLM show building from a small sight-line between the tents and leave the back of Dumbo looking so obtrusive from so many areas...
