Thoughts on MK tour?

On my next trip to WDW, i was thinking about doing the behind the scenes tour of MK where you go in the utilidors and such(Keys to the Kingdom i think it is called). But, being a hardcore fan of the WDW magic... im worried it might spoil the magic for me in some ways. Its not like i dont know whats down there, and i know all about the actual buildings behind the facades the rides are in and such, but i still think actually witnessing it might be different. So, i was wondering if anyone who went on this tour felt like the magic had been somewhat ruined for them in a way, or that MK is best seen from the normal point of view, not from behind it all. Any thoughts?:veryconfu

I did the tour a while ago, and It's really a great tour!! We had tons of fun and our tour guide was awesome! But to be completely honest...I was a little shocked when we were down in the Ulitors and I saw some stuff that I was prepared to see, but when I actually saw, it was a HUGE shock and i almost cried lol ...I was a little younger at the time though...but it really depends what you don't want spoiled. You can PM me if you want and I'll go more into detail...I just don't want to post it for EVERYONE to read...I am a strong believer of not ruining magic!! :) :)

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour last year and it did'nt ruin anything for me. I will tell you on my tour we were only in the utilidor for about 10 or 15 minutes. Did'nt see anything all that earth shattering. I thought it was o.k. Feel free to e-mail me also if you want any other info.

ummm - i have been on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and i have been a cast member at the MK and all through the utiladors...... and i will say this - if you think anything will ruin the magic... (without posting details on this kid friendly forum) then don't do it. it is a great way to go behind the scenes of some buildings, and learn stories of attractions, and feel like a vip getting backdoored onto a few - but in the long run, if you are really into the magic and mystery of everything, steer clear! you can def. instant message me on msn, (giantdisneyintern@hotmail.com) or you can pm me here on these boards, or email me at bigjosh@inu.net, and i will be more than happy to help you with your decision!

I have to agree with everyone else. I never took the tour, but I visited WDW on vacation many, many, many times before I started working there. Let me tell you, the first time I went "backstage" and in the tunnel and I saw some "stuff", I was devastated! It took me a long time to get used things. While the time you are in the tunnels may be short, there is always, always the chance you might see something not meant for guests eyes. Will it spoil the magic? Maybe, maybe not, but why take the chance? Really, it's just buildings and stuff. Nothing special really. And sometimes, the tunnels really smell.

thank y'all so much.... i think that itd probably would be best to steer clear of it since im so into all the Disney magic. although im sure that there is a lot of interesting stuff, id rather keep my innocence i guess. ill have to wait till the future when i work at WDW to see whats goin on back there. thanks a ton!

yeah - the first time i walked into the utiladors i was totally shocked, and it took me a few days to get over it lol... but it is really interesting to me, but i am the type of person who totally believes in the magic, but i love behind the scenes stuff too! the utiladors really aren't anything to gawk at, just 'stuff' you see roaming around... lol:animwink:
