Went to the very rainy event on 09/1. Massive crowd for the 8:15 Hocus Pocus show. Huge cheers when it started. I honestly did not think the Sanderson Sisters were going to be this popular but clearly the show is now a major draw. Until 7 minutes into the show the rains started falling and would not stop for some hours to come.

But they had Stitch open as an indoor treat trail! Loved it. All three audio Animatronics in the pre show show scene were on and waving to you as you walked by. NICE TOUCH.

Also Mickey's Philharmagic was an indoor trail as well, AND if you wanted you could take a seat and watch..... Disney's Sleepy Hallow. Again, nice touch.

The parade did NOT feature any of the Decendants as someone's "inside sources" had told them. I do feel like the parade was shorter. But it the first one was cancelled all together so perhaps the second one was reduced due to rain? I am guessing the ran the full parade, and this years version is just a bit shorter. Someone want to do find a youtube side by side comparison to see how it compares to prior years?

The first parade wasn't cancelled, it was delayed...and shortened. We left just as the delayed fireworks started, so don't know if the 11:15 parade went off as scheduled. By the time the fireworks started, the rain wad just a drizzle. And compared to the storm that blew through Thursday night, we were lucky.

it was cancelled. It was delayed three time but eventually cancelled. The 11:15 parade stepped off.

On Friday, September 1st? No, it wasn't cancelled - it was delayed. I stood across from the Frontierland merchandise store and watched the last 5 floats after riding Thunder Mountain. And then followed the last float as we started to exit the park, with a stop at the Emporium on the way out. We were out of the park by 10:50 - as Hallowishes just started. Can't be certain since we got on the monorail shortly after the fireworks started, but they seemed shortened as the fireworks were basically done by the time we pulled out of the Contemporary.

That's cool!

Will try to see those things next week.

I was there on the 1st. The first parade was delayed and I saw it leaving the hub at around 10:15, Hallowishes ran at 10:40, the second parade finished at 12:25 AM. Two Hocus Pocus shows ran completely, one finishing at around 11:10 (I arrived just as it finished), and the other starting at around 12:30 AM (I was on the monorail and could see the projections on the castle).

I know everyone has different tastes but it has gotten to the point for me where I cannot justify the separate ticket.

In my opinion, I would hope that one of the main features of the event gets refreshed in some way every year. The Parade, Fireworks, and Stage Show. If this were done, the event would feel more fresh and justify the cost for me. I am glad many still enjoy it and it is a fun time, but as a separate ticketed event it is out of my value.

We were there to! We were walking across the hub just as they played the announcement that the fireworks would start in 5 minutes. We were dead center and had a great view

WDW still Caiters to the once in a lifetime crowd. that's why entertainmenrt specifically is so slow to change vs....any other park.

For the most part, I agree with you.. but for us, our arrival day is party day, and it is a short trip.. it actually works out to go to the party on arrival day rather than adding a 5th day to our ticket.. and since you can get in at 4, if you stay until the end, it is almost a full day anyway. :)

It is nice having shorter lines. I'm not much into the characters, so all the people in line for those are even less people in line for the rides.. it's a win-win.

That makes total sense and if you only go to Mk for that time on the trip and are in it for the bigger ticket attractions I always recommend that.

It would be interesting to know just how many Not So Scary guests are first-timers vs repeat customers. The Universal Studios model, where most of the mazes are new each year, certainly aims at repeat visitors. We did Not So Scary three years in a row, but each time it was the only Disney visit in otherwise non-Disney trips. We opted out this year, partly because there's nothing new from last year... or the year before, and partly because we're planning on a proper trip next year to see Pandora and hopefully Toy Story.

Same here...not going to it this year since it's basically the same as the past years. Would hope to see them revamp Hallowishes next year, then I would go again.

yeah i did the party once...no need to do it again. for some its a cheaper way to ride the headliners but if you have an AP like me your already paying sooo...1500 bucks a year or so isnt good enough to toss in a few tickets?
