Hi everyone!

My friend and I were talking and her family is going within the first two weeks of august! Then I was personally wondering how are the crowds, weather, etc... around that time?

I was personally, thinking that it would be hot, humid and crowded. Especially the waterparks because they are going to one of them.
Thanks!

The last time I went in August was years ago when I was a kid and basically didn't have a choice of when to go
It is very hot and very humid. Like...really hot and really humid. Not my cup of tea but if you don't mind, go for it!

We go each year during the second week in August. Yes, it's crowded but honestly it isn't that bad. Yes it can be hot but what is great about Disney is you really are not outside in the heat all the time. We have a blast every year! In my opinion, if you have to go during the summer (which is our case since I'm a teacher), it's one of the best times. Also, we are Texans - we are use to heat and humidity =)

Early August : Yes

My best friend and I went twice in August when her girls were young and this plan made for a great vacation. Although it is hot, humid, and crowded, there are advantages. If you plan to leave the parks from a minimum of noon to 2pm you miss the heat of the day. Go back to the hotel and rest in the room or even go to the pool it will really make a difference, especially if you have gotten up early and want to stay out late. The day we went to the 3pm parade at the Magic Kingdom we slept in and did laundry while the girls played in the pool. The night before we were at MK until 11 (this was before emh) and then had the fun crowded ride to the hotel CBR. We had lunch and went to the park about 1pm. Now, with evening emh hours the MK is sometimes open until 2 or 3 am. Also you must remember to have ponchos available because summer showers happen often, but they ususally last for only a short time, not long enough to spoil you day. Reapply sunscreen frequently, drink water often and you should be good to go!

We've gone in Late July-early August many, many times. Your call was right on...it's hot, humid, crowded and rains for part of just about every day. The water parks are usually packed and often closed by 60-90 minutes after opening because of overcrowding; not fun if you've got little kids in tow who don't quite understand. The water parks will re open later in the day when the crowds thin out, but you have to be in line to get in or you can be shut out again.

I went the first week of August in both 2007 & 2008 and the parks were crowded. It was also hot & humid with the daytime temps in the low to mid 90s.

The funny thing is that both of those years I was glad to be there instead of back home in Virginia. The reason I was glad is that both of those times they were seeing temps around 100 with humidity in Virginia. I am used to the humidity as I have to deal with it in Virginia every summer, but is nice when the temps are not in the 90s or above.

Well, I believe my friend will be staying off-site because they might want to visit Universal or Seaworld.

So emh won't work for them. They did want to know about the waterparks so I'm now able to tell them about that and there crowds!

Heading for the great escape.
Most of our trips have been in that period. Hot humid and still fairly busy.

On the plus side most things are still open, there are fewer special events to up park hours, and whats the odd storm or hurricane if not character building.

Yes great time to go.

Infact youll probably feel right at home.

As for the character building events, you can check the National Hurricane Center before you leave for any potential storms. They have a pretty good record in tracking those things...

As long as they happen at a time that doesnt cancel my flight Im selfishly cool with the big wind and rain thang, and I am a fan of Wesh. :animwink:
