Unless it's changed... the other benefit of Chapeau is they have the "create your own" hats there where you pic your beanie, your ears, and patches etc. to put on them (and then they can embroider your name on there too if you want). :)
Awesome,Chapeau it is then. Sshhhh, don't tell everyone.:)

Thank you for the comment. The “Make Your Own” brand for Disney Ear Hats has actually been discontinued. It was a good experience but the Ear Hat team felt it was time to try something new (hence this article.
You can still add personalization to hats though.

I have to confess, as much as I love Disney and my life is mostly consumed with all things Disney.... I have never purchased a set of Mickey Ears. Every time we enter Main Street, we visit the Chapeau shop, I look at the new ears, I hem and haw about them, buy never get enthralled enough to buy one. I liked the looks of the new country mouse ears but still.... Can't seem to see me wearing one, sorry.

the chapeau on main street has the largest selection, as well as the wonderful world of Disney at downtown Disney. i collect mickey nears/Minnie mouse headband thinggies/ character hats/ crowns like crazy. tell your wife that trend 'd' has an amazing selection for women that fit perfectly.

i cannot believe i did not notice they discontinued it. this makes me sad because i loved the personalized touch that i would make :( but for everything there is a season, and unfortunately, this isn't it for that. I will say that the current selection of hats is huge and i truly believe there is something for everyone :)

I believe if you find a pair of ears some place that does not do the embroidery, you can take them to one of the shops with the embroidery equipment and they will do it there. Since embroidery is no longer free at any location, you would just be splitting up the purchase between two places. Just make sure you have your receipt so they know the hat was already purchased.

Yes you can take an old pair of ears or a pair you bought and forgot to have embroidered into one of the shops that do it and they'll do it (as you said, because it's no longer a free service).

I know it's not as fun as buying them there, but there are a handful that are also available at the Disney Store online. I wanted some for my girls for their surprise trip last summer and it would have spoiled the surprise if I didn't have them in advance. They did the embroidery and shipped pretty quickly...although we were also domestic shipment, so that probably makes a big difference. I'm thinking of finally buying my own first pair next trip...I can still let DH where DD5's princess ones when she gets tired of them. :D
