This time I'm determined to go on more rides... Advice please!

Hello guys, so - I'm known to be a little bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to rides, and the last time I went to disney the most I managed to get on was primeval whirl, dinosaur and Dudley do rights at universal.

I'm determined to conquer space mountain, splash, thunder mountain, Everest, test track and seven dwarfs this time! What order shall I attempt to do them in, perhaps starting mildest first etc! On water rides I'm okay, having done humonga cowabonga several times, for some reason it's just rollercoaster esque rides!

Any tips, advice etc would be much appreciated...
If you did Dinosaur without a problem you can do Thunder Mt with no problem. It's just a fun ride. As far as Test Track, it just feels like you are in a car accelerating to 64 MPH. I have never had any fear on this ride. I would start with one of those two.

Start with the tamer ones. My 86 yr old mom insisted on going the 7 dwarfs coaster, so I pushed her wheelchair through the line. They put us at the front and she loved it! It is fast, but very smooth and gentle. At the end, she said it was "pretty good, but needed to be a little bit longer." If the line had not been an hour, she would have gone again in a heartbeat. My 90 yr old MIL liked the Goofy coaster- said it was "just right." Test track is pretty tame, except for the part when you go outside in the open car. Both of them liked TT (except it messed up their hair) and Goofy.

I think Exp Everest and Thunder MT are medium thrill. Sit up front and both seems slower. EE is rather high, goes fast, and has large turns, while TM stays low to the ground with some tight turns. I'd put Splash Mt in this category because of the 2 drops, the last one being 5 stories. Nearly all the ride is smooth floating through fun scenes with catchy music. Just bring a cheap poncho to cover up with and try to lift your feet off the floor when you drop to keep them dry!

And...the 'wilder' ones: Space Mt is a rough coaster, not smooth like the newer ones. Last time I got off the ride, I swore I was half an inch shorter! But, it is one of our very favorites and we ride it several times each visit. It is a dark ride, but that just adds to the fun. It goes fast and there's tight turns. The Aerosmith RnR coaster is our very favorite! You go from 0 to 60 in a couple of seconds or so, and there's loops, tight turns, and drops while Steven Tyler sings in stereo behind you! We are always smiling when we climb out of our seats.

If you go on a ride that is a bit more than you expected, don't give up on the others! Everything at WDW is fun and really not so wild as compared to some rides at other parks.

I'm honestly the biggest chicken in the world when it comes to rides, but over the past few years I've slowly but surely conquered all of the ones you mentioned.
If you can handle Primeval Whirl, Mine Train and Thunder Mountain should be a piece of cake for you. If you're nervous about these rides, ask if you can ride towards the front of the train (even if you don't want to sit in the very front row). The biggest hills/drops on these rides aren't straight down, they curve. So, if you sit at the front, the train already curves around part of the drop before it gains momentum and it's less intense in the front.
Test Track isn't bad at all. There's no big drops, the only thing about it is that it goes really fast around a curve, but it honestly doesn't feel any different than going fast in a car. There's three seats in a row and if you sit in the middle, the sharp turns won't be as intimidating if you're worried about them.
I just went on Splash Mountain for the first time about two weeks ago. I was so terrified that I was crying and I have to say, it wasn't bad at all. The drop doesn't feel as steep as it looks and it's over in like two seconds. There's smaller drops before the big one, but they're about the same intensity as the drop on Pirates of the Caribbean.
Space Mountain was so scary and I've yet to get back on it since the first time I rode it. It's REALLY dark and you have no clue where you're going (I get that's the point). None of the drops felt very big or anything, but it freaked me out not knowing where I was going. I also kept feeling like I was going to hit my head, which I know would never happen, especially since I'm pretty short, but it still scared me.
Everest is also pretty scary, but I liked it better than Space Mountain. The drop is significantly larger than any of the coasters you listed, but other than that, it's not so bad. It goes backwards, but that wasn't as scary as I expected it to be.
I hope you enjoy whatever rides you end up conquering! :)

Test Track is the most basic, not much to really get a thrill going, but still cool and it drops you off in a Chevy showroom, so if you like Chevy, there's your reward (for me it's not so much of a reward).

Then Seven Dwarfs, but only if you get a Fast Pass, as I don't see it being worth it for the full wait. It's nothing crazy, it's kind of neat, but really, it was a little anticlimactic once I finally was able to get on it (had to wait for it to actually be done being built between two trips).

Splash Mountain only has one drop in it that's a little weird feeling since it goes on rails sort of like a roller coaster, and your stomach drops. But other than that it's a great ride and should not be missed.

Thunder Mountain is also pretty cool, the way it's all decorated is great, and it's a fun ride. The wait can be ridiculous, but try going during a parade or some other sort of event that may create an opening in the line for the ride.

Space Mountain is near the bottom of my list because, well, it's just not that good, the wait is an eternity without Fast Pass, and similar rides exist around the country, only difference is they are outside and this happens to be in a building (it's just a mouse roller coaster, nothing to write home about).

Everest would be higher, but since you go backwards I end up feeling sick by the end of it, and as a result, find it hard to recommend (though, my sister likes it). The actual ride and what they did with the scenery and everything is top notch (minus the Yeti that literally only works in the preview clips they show of it on one of the video loops on their park channels at the resort rooms).

For years I found excuses to not go on some of the thrill rides. Over the last visits I have gone on all of them. I found that my imagination of how scary they would be was so much more than what they actually were. I was always afraid that I would fall out. So I just hang on and just stare at the seat in front of me during the scary parts. Once I went on it once and lived I have had no problem doing it again. The only one that still freaks me out is Tower of Terror. I don't like the feeling of falling. Test Track is easy. Like driving in traffic in a convertible. The top speed is like 65. I was doing 75 on my ride to work this morning. Splash Mountain it is just the one drop that is not that bad. Ask to be seated in the back that way you don't see the drop. Big Thunder mountain has a lot of twist and turns that throw you around. A lot like Dinosaurs just a little longer. 7DMT is less intense than BTMR. Space Mountain is scary because you are going in the dark. All twist and turns. The lap bar holds you down pretty well. I wedge my knees under the bar against the bottom so I do not move. EE just the start as you slowly go higher and higher. You are like how high are we going? Knowing you have to come down. The big drop is pretty intense and then the quick turn at the bottom is the worst. This is were I stare at the seat back in front of me. Rock in Roller coaster you are pretty secure with the bars that come over your shoulder. The take off looks worst than it is because of the lights making you think you are going faster than you are. After that not to bad. I missed that it goes upside down twice the first time I went on it. The G forces keep you in the seat.

People have posted videos on line for most of these. So you can see what it really is like before you decide to ride. The ride will not hurt you physically. So it is just a matter of getting your mind into it. I found that the ride are scarier in the dark. You cant see were you are going.

I'm going to say the opposite of others here. Don't build up. Go on the worst possible ride you can think right off the bat. Go on Space Mountain or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster first. If you build up, you're putting these rides on a pedestal and you'll be nervous to do it. Nothing wrong is going to happen to you, as you'll be just fine. If its at Disney World its safe.

DONT DO SEAT SIX ON SPACE MOUNTAIN. Its awesome, but you aren't ready.

Humunga Kowabunga is the scariest thing I've ever done at a Disney park. Other than bite into a hamburger, maybe.

If you've done that multiple times, the rest on your list are easy breezy. Have fun!

I'd put Slush Gusher a couple of clicks above Humonga Kowabunga (or Summit Plummet, for that matter) on the terror scale, simply because your body repeatedly breaks contact with the surface of the slide.

Yep. That sounds pretty pants-pooping. I just have yet to make it to Blizzard Beach! The last Disney water park I went to was River Country, so I'm due.

How bad is it for people who get motion sickness?

Both my son and I suffer from motion sickness, but neither of us have had any issues with RnRC -- if we ride it once. One time, there was a short wait for the ride, so I did it twice, back-to-back. I was a little bit queasy after the second time.

Space Mountain is the roughest WDW coaster in my opinion.
R&R is intense and intimidating, but so cool and so much fun.
Everest is a journey for me. I absolutely love it's experience from beginning to end, and for me that beginning starts way back in the park.
Space Mountain, I love for the classic Disney experience. But it's sharp turns, and sudden drops - which often lift me out of my seat as well as bang me around leave me feeling battered. I also can't shake the feeling that my decapitation may be imminent, and I duck nearly the entire ride.

If you are interested in roller coasters you should try "The Sum Of All Thrills" in Innoventions. With it, you get to make a roller coaster so it can be as extreme or mild as you want.

SM is old-school rough. But, we visited DL last year for the first time and was surprised at their SM- smooth ride! We missed the little rockets, but the ride was much better.
