Trip Report Third time’s the charm- Sorta kinda live-Now with bonus content!

We’re going back! Hey everyone it’s me, the Loco. Like many of us here in our little community, I missed out on a few Disney trips thanks to the pandemic. We originally had plans for a west coast trip back I the summer of 2020, but that clearly was a no go. We had a backup plan of visiting WDW in September, but a change of jobs for me forced us to cancel that since I wouldn’t have any available leave time(I started the new job in august). That leads us to now, trip number three, and we are a go! Our last trip was February of 2020 just before the world went bananas, but that seems like decades ago at this point!
Its Been A Long Time Waiting GIF

So Let’s do this! I’ll get the intros and details out of the way.

Who: Those of you who have read any of my older reports know it will be me and the wife. She’s the good looking one in the picture below, which would make me the slightly inebriated one.

Anyone remember the throwback TR we did last year featuring Molli and Chris getting engaged?

Where:

Followed by three nights here

Wait, not there. I mean the real wilderness lodge! Copper creek villas to be exact.

When: Approximately 48 hours from right now. Am I ready? Of course not. Being the man, I’m contractually obligated to wait until the last second to pack, and to forget something super important!

We are excited to get back “home”, even with the restrictions and missing entertainment. I have to admit that it’s been nice not having to plan quite as much. I just made park passes and a few dining reservations and that was that. I’m in the camp that believes fast pass actually inflated wait times for most attractions, and I am not particularly sad to see it go.

We’ll be driving down since we planned this trip before vaccines were widely available and we were still a little on the fence about flying. I feel more comfortable with it now, but prices have skyrocketed, so I’ll just stick with the road trip.

Will I be putting the loco in Loco_Driver by doing the entire trip in one day? Even I don’t know the answer to that yet. Check back Friday!

Will I partake in mine and @Tuvalu beloved WCC burnt ends nachos, or a No Way Jose?

Will any fellow magicians be making appearances?

So with all that out of the way, let’s goooo!

After supper we ran back to the room to drop off our leftover pizza(which made a fine breakfast today!) then we walked back to Epcot. First stop was the beauty and the beast singalong, not my favorite but A is a huge fan of that film, and loves to sing the songs. We followed that up with a trip to the new Rat area. The bathrooms are nice at least(but a bit smelly an hour after everyone’s had dinner).

They had just switched the film to impressions, so we watched that before going on a hunt for dessert.

First was Griddled Maple Pound Cake with Warm Peach Compote and Sweet Corn Gelato from Canada. This was good but not my favorite.

I’d looked at the honey bee-stro the night before when hanging out with the Tone, and knew I wanted to try the dessert there.
Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Whipped Cream, Whipped Honey, Crystalized Honey, Honeycomb, Dehydrated Honey, and Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses. This did not disappoint!

After dessert we ended the night with a ride on figment before heading back to the hotel.

We relaxed in a swing on the beach just enjoying the peacefulness before hitting the hay.

More from MK.

Lunch was at plaza. We were seated in the little sun room with a big four topper table, which was nice!

Neither of us were super hungry. We both got the loaded fries, which were fine.
View attachment 548131

Dessert was a brownie sundae for A.

And a hot fudge sundae for me.

The princesses were coming by when we finished lunch.

We followed that up with a trip to the new Rat area. The bathrooms are nice at least(but a bit smelly an hour after everyone’s had dinner).

Or perhaps they are authentically scented?

I stayed in furnished apartment one summer in college. There was some plastic chairs that smelled so bad we just hid them all summer in a closet. One of my roommates declared that the chairs smelled “just like the Paris Metro” 🤢

Well that would be some impressive theming, but judging by the ....sounds coming from the bathroom stalls, me thinks it was from my fellow guests.

We took a break in the DVC lounge for a little while before heading out to find more topiaries and explore WS.

I’m told Robbie Knievel will jump trough this ring as part of the fireworks show. Don’t ask me my sources you know I can’t share that information.

I thought the cheesecake at the Honey Beestro was delicious too. In past years it came with ice cream on the side but not this year which I didn't know about until I took a bite of the whipped cream that I thought was going to be ice cream, I was a little surprised but I still enjoyed the dish.
We loved the cheesecake today, too! Certainly not enough for 5!

Yep, some of those Flower and Garden dishes are not meant for sharing. Another tasty one that is not big enough to share is the vampiro taco in Mexico. Super tasty but small, maybe two people could share. Have you tried the fried cinnamon fritter things over by Test Track? Soooooo goooood!

The monstrosities. I overheard several people talking about how horrible these things are.

Trying to get a picture of this beautiful spot is hard now thanks to the giant burnt tacos and the stargate.

Our reward for the scavenger hunt(besides getting to have fun) were a few of these buttons. There is a different design for each park.
