Thinking of going to Epcot for NYE

ok... I just have never seen Dolphins like that... they look like fish to me, lol

Crazy Italians! :)

It's interesting if you're into art, but over the years artists have taken many liberties when it comes to depicting dolphins.

Dolphins were important and romanticized often in Greek mythology, and the Romans took the drawing of dolphins to terrifying new heights in their artwork. Makes you wonder if many of them had ever actually seen a dolphin before. Here's a fun blog post I found on the topic: https://eidolon.pub/dont-look-now-b...tion-of-a-dolphin-under-your-bed-780e50ce08d9

After waiting for the bus back to Saratoga last year, I made it a condition for this year's trip that we had to stay at Swan & Dolphin or it's a no-go. Makes the end of the night a whole lot easier.

We wanted to do the same, but we waited too long and the dolphin was just too expensive to justify. We got 3 nights (fri-sun) at the bonnet creek wyndham for around $500. When I checked the dolphin, it would have been around $380/night with parking and resort fees.

I used the 35% off buying SPG points deal to buy points and book 2 nights for about $460 total (not including the resort fee)

Dolphin is a common name used for dolphinfish, also known as Mahi-Mahi. It is a fish, not "flipper". Caught the fish when on a charter boat out of Islamorada, Key West, Fla, many years ago

I was thinking that, but I don't think it looks like a dolphinfish either.... not even close And I bet it is present as a porpoise. Anyway, they can call it anything they want, I call it the Swan and Carp (because it resembles a Carp more then anything).

Not sure if you're on Twitter, but there is an account called EpcotNYE that literally live tweeted all of last year's NYE festivities at EPCOT. It could be useful to scroll through some of the tweets and check it out!

We go to Epcot every year for NYE. In fact my dad proposed to my mom in front of Japan on NYE. Anyways, it is extremely crowded. We usually watch the fireworks from the hills in Future World. Be sure to see RoE the first time from around the lagoon and then back in FW for the real thing so you can haul posterior out before the crowds leave em masse.

Every park is crowded on NYE but EPCOT is big enough to at least somewhat handle a lot of people better than MK.

That said, I've been to EPCOT probably 10 times for NYE and it's still too crowded to enjoy. The fireworks are outstanding but everything else is harder than it should be.

Now, I avoid WDW during the busiest times.
