Thinking of Disneyland next summer, tips, info, etc

thinking of driving to Disney Land next summer with kids, sort of see the country thing before they get to old. anyone have tips on how/what to do Disneyland? been WDW 20+times so would be totally new experience for us. any info/advice appreciated

We went to Disneyland in the summer of 2013 after several trips to WDW. We purchased the So Cal City Pass which got us into Disney (3 days), Universal Hollywood, Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. We enjoyed everything we did very much and I recommend this pass to anyone who wants to do Disney and even more. We stayed at Paradise Pier which we thought was a fantastic hotel, but Disneyland is so different that there are "good neighbor" hotels nearly as close as the Disney hotels. Dining is different in Disneyland, in that you don't have to make reservations, unless you are going at the most busy times. We walked up to every table service restaurant and were pretty much seated immediately. They have some of the best quick service restaurants there as well. Flo's in DCA and the Plaza in Disneyland were two of our favorite. Here is a link to my trip report from when we were there. Have fun!!!!
