Hi all,

I am thinking about buying into the DVC and have been doing alot of research and I have a few questions. I have asked that a book be sent to me but I am having trouble finding point value for resorts other then Disney's. I would love to see the points for the Disney cruise. Can you please help and let me know where I can find this data.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Welcome to the boards, MadDog!

I haven't seen the disney cruise values anywhere online... they ARE in the book you get from DVC when you request info from them, though. The cruise values are a bit different from regular room point rates because...
1) They are per person, not per night.
2) Since you are not paying per-night, the point values vary based on length of cruise, and time of year.
3) You'll also have to pay an additional fee to book on a Disney cruise since you're technically booking outside of DVC. This is similar to the fee you'd pay if you booked one of the non-DVC resorts, etc. I think it's roughly $75-$100. per reservation (not per person or per night).

Sorry I couldn't directly answer your question (since my book's at home), but hopefully that's still useful info.

The only time I've seen them online is in the members-only section of the DVC website.

If I could cut and paste em easily I would, but each type of cruise has its own page, based on season and room category, and it's not formatting to something you can easily read here.

You will need a boat load of points to take the cruise.
4 night cruise Cat.11 Value 82 Reg. 123 peak 138 per Adult
3rd and 4th adult(13 and up) start at 61 points
3rd and 4th child(6 to 12) start at 54 points
3rd and 4th child(3 to 5) start at 51 points
age 2 and under 18 points
The higher the room the more points you would need. remember you can barrow next years points
I hope this helps out

We were going to take the Disney Cruise this year but after we found out how many points we needed to use it really was not worth it. We had friends that recently took a two week cruise from California to Hawaii and it was cheaper than a one week Disney Cruise. There are web sites that specializes in cruises and offer some really great packages. I would not recommend using the vacation club points for a cruise. The exchange rate is not that favorable. I think Disney should offer DVC members a discount.
