I am generally a regular on the 'dining' section but I have had to go 'cold turkey'!!!

I have been on a diet since January and have lost 35lbs for my wdw trip in September, a piece of cake or sweet has not passed my lips since! BUT all these threads about cupcakes have had me obsessed! I had a bad week a while ago (there is a tea shop where I work, sometimes I have to restock and slice cakes) and ended up sneakily taking bites of the old cakes I throw out, I would even just lick the frosting off some!!! I had it bad! I actually put on 4lbs in that week!!!

I now have another 1lb to go to lose before I break even and I have 9 wks to go before I hit WDW!
I will not be able to look at the dining threads any more! It's the only way, the cravings get too bad!!!

The Cupcakes at WDW are in for trouble when I get there!!!

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!

Haha yeah! The dining section has seen some serious traffic lately! Although i can see our list are now pretty much final and now all we have to do is get there and try them out!

Of course, dining reports will follow in the coming months..... ;)

Vitani88 has a very good point about this...even if you eat TONS of cupcakes while there...you walk sooooooo much that you usually burn it off and then some. I actually usually lose at least 5lbs when at WDW...which is nuts considering we do at least 2 TS meals per day and yummy cuppycakes are my go to snack at WDW. I know- so healthy! :D

First, congratulations on your weight loss! Sticking to a diet since January is a LONG TIME! Just keep thinking how great you will look for your trip and how much easier it is to get around all day in the heat with less "baggage." Besides, those cupcakes at WDW will taste much better than the old cake slices! Just 9 more weeks! ;)

Thanks! It feels like an eternity since I've eaten 'tasty' food!!! I keep repeating the 'just 9 weeks' line in my head all the time! My slip up has made me more determined!

I actually lose weight at Disney! I'm on the go so much that I guess I burn the calories I inhale!

Or everything is sweetened with Pixie Dust... either or! :D
I have no idea how, but I NEVER seem to gain any weight at WDW! Maybe it's all the walking? Because I eat A LOT! And I normally gain weight easily...
Sounds good to me! I look forward to testing this theory! ;)

Congratulations on your weight loss - it's hard work! I'm struggling with the same issue, and have decided that in order to help make up for all the extra calories I'll be eating at WDW (and to take some of the guilt out of indulging), I'll be continuing my at-home workout regimen while I'm there. I downloaded running trail maps for the resort where we'll be (and some for other resorts I'd like to check out by jogging them). I'll be going early in the morning, at my usual time, so it won't interfere with my family's touring schedule. I'm also sure it won't prevent me from gaining a few pounds while I'm there, but I won't feel like I've fallen off the wagon completely, either. I don't know what your workout routine is, but you might want to look at some Disney-fied options you can do on your vacation, if that will make you feel better about enjoying those cupcakes!

In the meantime, just ask yourself when those cakes tempt you, "Is this going to taste as good to me now as a Butterfinger cupcake will at Disney World?" If the answer is "no," put it down and hold off until you can treat yourself to the very best (or at least, to the most fattening, in the very best place on earth). ;)

Thanks, it's great you are going to keep up that level of commitment! I have planned to possibly use the jogging path at GF, but I'll see how I feel once I'm there!!

Great advice about resisting cakes, the next 'treat' I have will be an amazing cupcake from Starring rolls!!!!

Good luck !!!

This is excellent advice, especially about resisting temptation leading up to WDW.

I do the same thing, continuing to work out while on vacation, because if I don't, it's just too easy to continue to slack off when I get home! Not sure about regular resort rooms, but DVC units always have a DVD player, so I bring some no-equipment workouts with me and get in 30 minutes of exercise while DH is showering and getting dressed (or before he even awakens!!) ;)

Do give it a try--my last trip (this past May) was the first time I ventured out jogging at WDW. I explored every path at Old Key West, but the part I enjoyed best was seeing the same people each morning, by the third day we were all "nodding acquantainces". And best of all, if you start out the day that way, it leads to totally worry-free face-stuffing, I can tell you that from experience. ;)

Sounds lovely and relaxing, I only jog on the spot in my home, my local area isnt nice and i wouldnt jog outside, jogging round the GF and Poly sounds good! I agree that after jogging first thing, I'll feel much better about stuffing my face!!

While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it?

I don't think it was intended to be cruel. I find it surprising myself how I eat so much and so many treats at WDW and yet don't gain weight there, yet I easily gain weight at home if I eat even a little too much and don't run enough. I also attribute it to all the walking.
