Good Morning All..Had a wee chat with a neighbour yesterday who asked me when I was going back to WDW.I told her 2015 but the planning was already in action..Only in so much that we've decided on October instead of our usual July, and were going to book our flights separate from a package tour, and book our resort direct with WDW.Now when it comes to planning,I told her we book our ADRS and write down which days have extra morning & late hours. Now Mrs Hatter hates my commando style attack on the mouse.( alarm set for 6.30am ) But what amazes me is some folk plan each day like an military assault..Example..Day 1...Get up at 6.30am..Breakfast at 7,00am..Get bus to MK for rope drop..Start at Fantasyland...lunch at 11.30am CHH...Leave around 3.00pm..head back to resort for swim & chill out period..Get bus for Epcot at 6.00pm..Do Spaceship Earth, then MS,,followed by,etc,etc..Dinner at Rosé & Crown for 8.00pm,etc,etc...Then day 2 has another military assault..Is there anyone out there that does this type of planning?.. Come forward now,and tell us if you would do it again,or ease off on exact times for each day..

Gawrsh no! Before we took our first trip this past June I subscribed to touring plans. I HATED how it had times for everything....I'm surprised it didn't put in times for our potty breaks! We scrapped that plan and the only planning we did was our ADR's and what park we would be in each day. By the end of our trip we realized that even that much planning didn't suit our style. Too many times over the course of the week we found that we had to stop whatever fun thing we were doing to get to a dinner reservation and we didn't like that. So our next trip we will still book ADR's, but they will be mostly breakfasts with only a few dinners so that we can have more uninterrupted play time ;)

We did Tusker House at 8.15, left our table at 9, got on the second truck going out. All the animals were out, and it was brilliant, and everyone was thoroughly entertained by my 3 year old's hysterical laughter going over the bumps :)
We also did Cinderella's at 8a.m for the very reason that is in this photo: My "Cindy" in front of her castle, with not another peasant in sight :)

Exactly my thinking..get a jump on AK in particular the Safari to catch the animals before the heat and EPCOT before the crowds get in..

We plan one meal a day (usually a sit down dinner or lunch). We get up 6 a.m. wake up call, I shower, then wake up DH to shower (DS's shower at night), then I run down and get some coffee/tea while they all get dressed. At the bus stop before 7 a.m. and go to whatever park has early entry. Always get park hoppers, so if a particular park is crowded we head to another one. We never go back to the hotel, but sometimes just spend part of the afternoon sitting down to rest somewhere (or shop in a store if it's hot). If a park is open late, we sometimes go to that park, or sometimes DH & myself head back to the hotel by 10 p.m. and the DSs will go to another park and coming strolling in around midnight!! We do this for 2-3 days then take a break and sleep in, and go to DTD around noon on our day "off".

We pretty much have our days planned out military style. But the past few trips we've opted for qs so we can be a little more lax and not be tied down by schedules.

we have done both. Our first trip we were clueless. My wife said, "never again will I do WDW like that." (no plans) After that we planned. Now that we are so comfortable at WDW, we still plan, but leave a lot open. We even did a last minute trip once when we hoped in the car and drove all night (17 hours 20 minutes) and arrived in WDW without ADRs or even a resort room booked!! That may have been the best trip we ever took. I like having an idea of what we want to do, but I like the freedom to change my mind when Im there.
