There must be something wrong with me...

Since 2005 our family has been to WDW 4x, DLR 1x, and we just got back from DLP. Every time I got back from a trip I would immediately start thinking about when I could get my next Disney fix. Even if the next trip would have to wait 2 years, I knew the time frame when it would happen,, and I would enjoy starting to plan. This is the first time in 10 years that I don't have my next Disney trip in the works, and I honestly don't know when our schedule will permit it to happen. I should be freaking out but I'm not. Maybe I've just accepted that it will happen when it can? Nah, I'm not that laid back! :D

I don't think there is anything wrong with you. It might be more healthy to not obsess over the next trip, or worry about if or when it might be. You have now been some six times, more then some people will go in a lifetime. Perhaps it is just that the newness and excitement is wearing off. Nothing wrong with that. We have been going for all of our 32-plus years of marriage, usually twice a year, and my wife goes three times per year, as she does the Princess Half-marathon each year.
We don't plan like we used to. We actually are going back soon, and we don't have a single ADR or fastpass. We will enjoy resort time, DTD, maybe SeaWorld and Universal this trip. Who knows? We will still have fun just have not given the upcoming trip a lot of thought. Did think about pulling the camper to Fort Wilderness, but got too good of a deal in an offsite condo to pass up.
So anyway, something wrong with you? No, I don't think so.

It's okay lol I'll do the planning for you :p

Disneyland: 2015/2016 (60th Anniversary) better get booking ;)
Walt Disney World: 2021 (50th Anniversary)
Disneyland Paris: 2018 (25th Anniversary)
Shanghai Disneyland: 2016 (Grand Opening)

Nothing going on at Hong Kong Disneyland but Tokyo Disney is getting a New Fantasyland and Cars Land but I don't know of the time frames.

But in all seriousness, there's nothing wrong with you, we all get burnt out at some point plus knowing about all the construction that is going on makes me not want to go until all the new projects are complete so I don't feel rushed to plan anything :)

LOL, thanks guys. I definitely don't feel burnt out and would be delighted to plan a trip, but I just seem to have peacefully accepted the fact that our family's upcoming schedule makes it impossible to plan a vacation with specificity right now. But that's not to say I don't have a long wish list going for "someday trips" of places I want to stay and restaurants where I want to eat and things I want to do in the Parks! And that anniversary list does look tempting @AndyS2992!
Enjoy your upcoming trip @epcotisbest.

@JillC LI I totally understand the feeling. Since becoming more adult (marriage, buying house, buying new cars, reconsidering graduate school), things come up that can cloud the Magic and life gets in the way. This has caused us to be happy about Disney and excited to return, but not that SUPER EXCITED I felt as a child, teenager, and young adult.
What tests our true Disney wants are when we begin considering vacations to other destinations and then crack and go back.

Yeah, life gets in the way and sometimes Disney trips arent available to us. During those "We're not going to Disney Years", ( DW says, No we can't go :arghh::arghh:) I knew if I dwelled on the fact that I was missing out on all the fun everyone else was getting to do or thought about the things I should be doing at Disney, I'd be miserable. So I immersed myself in my work, put all thoughts of Disney aside and tried going on with life. But I still had to hear about everybody else's trips upon their return, and grumble why not meeeee. Then the day came when DW said, Yes we can book it.... :jawdrop: :jawdrop::joyfull: the dark clouds blew away, the birds started singing again and the sun began to shine. I always knew..... had hopes and dreams that a return trip would be around the corner.
So be brave, keep on saving up for it, keep that dream alive .... even though you know a return trip is a ways away, its out there waiting for you.

I am obsessed, and I admit it. Even though we had a wonderful trip- the ultimate stay at Grand Floridian with my 75 year old Mom , twin boys age 11, and DH, I still want to go back ( partly because on our EPCOT day my Mom wasn't feeling well, and I missed TT, Soarin, and Illuminations).:( We went in June. I want to go back now ( but I sure would like to hop on a plane and go out to DL).:(;)
So... no... there's nothing wrong with you. Most Disney fanatics begin planning their next trip even before they leave ( hence bounce back offers, but I am not sure they do very much of that anymore).:D

No need to worry. I wake up and think about Disney world all day long. Mentally plan trips, what and when I might buy something. Google pictures, merchandise, shops, etc.

I'm obsessed too. We recently purchased premier passes because we were at DL and are planning on WDW for 2016 for a longer period of time. Now I'm trying to plan ways to get my "moneys worth" out of the passes. I think in a conversation to friends a couple days ago that the passes get cheaper the more times I go and they looked at me like I was nuts (they aren't disney fans though). Then I thought about it and realized that I still have to pay for room and flight, so I guess it isn't cheaper! But at the moment in my Disney-fried brain it made sense.

My next trip is...................I don't know. We are expecting our 3rd child in January and money right now is tight where we can't plan a trip. I am thinking at the very best October 2016. Then again, we've never been with kids before and we'll have three of them 5 and under by then. But that is honestly my next chance to go. I haven't been to Disneyland since 2012 and WDW since 2010. I miss them a lot. We'll probably go to WDW next, but I don't know when. Some more money would be nice, but believe me you are not alone in not having a future trip booked. Neither do I.
