I know this will sound like advertising for the site but i just wanted to let others know about stuff that hasn't shown up here (at least I havent seen it show up here).... yet.

This site has a TON of RUMORES and let me tell u there are some things here that will have to be seen to believe. Oh and it also has a clock the webmaster made for the opening of Mission: Space and it will be well into 2003 when the ride opens... over 500 days on the countdown would help come to that conclusion...

So, that webmaster has a better handle on when Space opens than WDW does, eh? Seeing as how WDW removed it's own countdown clock.

i dont remember but i think i heard that it was also somwhere in INOVATIONS that the countdown is happening... unless i heard wrong or they took it out and he just wants to keep his up.... i dont make sense do i?

The one in Innoventions was removed about a month ago. Rumor is that the date being counted down to (count the grammatical errors there) was earlier than WDW expected completion. I believe the original date (per the clock) was mid-April 2003. Seems that might not happen, and WDW would rather not have too many people "figure out" the date and then expect it to be gospel.

I had to do some hunting but this is what I found:

"(2/4/02) Screamscape sources tell us that the Countdown Clock for Mission: Space at the Innoventions preview center was taken down in the last couple of days. The story goes on to say that when management and/or WDI were asked about why it was removed the reply was that it was “too accurate”. In other words... the new ride may be running quite a bit behind on the construction time table. Tell us something we didn’t already know... this has got to be the slowest ongoing construction project in the history of Disney."

Get the idea? Most of the rumors are just speculation with a few question marks out beside it.

So, let me get this straight. You guys KNOW for sure that the countdown clock is still there?

The reasons may be rumors, but it's gone. Not there anymore. That's been reported by many. I just grabbed the Screamscape item since it covered the rumors about why as well.

They're just clarifying when they was the clock last. Helps us get an idea of when it disappeared.

See now, I read it as if they still believed it to be an unsubstantiated "rumor" because they didn't believe the Screamscape reference.

Gotcha. I think those messages may have gotten interpreted differently by each of us. I read ken-oh-ki's message about "...see em to believe em..." to refer to all the rumors on that page. Feivel ("...tries to stick to good information...") was referring to the fact that they generally only post stuff they have heard is reliable...Not just any junk that floats down the river. And I think TLB ("...just speculation..."), like ken-oh-ki, was referring to the rumors in general. I was last in the parks in October and wish they kept the clock but oh well...Life goes on. Sorry if I mis-interpreted any of your statements guys. Just trying to clear things up.
