Aren't they in one of the windows.. I believe i saw light coming from them when watching it from a weird angle once... but i may be mistaken.

No I think they are painted to look like the brick used in the chimney on the right side of the pic and is that another one toward the middle of the pic?

Well at least all this speculation gives us something to do. The structure would not have looked half as bad if they made the cut outs larger, more even and added decorative shutters. They could have passed them off as a large bay of windows.

I was thinking this for the Main St. projectors. I wonder if you could paint them so that they would resemble the architecture. Hide in plain site?

if its inside the building, why does the ones on top of MS have to be open?

My guess is that it was because of the angles. The ones for the front most likely had to be up higher to get over trees and other obstructions. Second or third floor of Main Street wouldn't cut it.

no i mean with the ones that are up now, why do they have to be made out of fabric without tops, if the ones in liberty square are inside the buildings

I presume they had to install some heavy-duty ventilation in the Christmas Shop building in order to place the projectors in there.

Maybe they thought that being roof-mounted, the Main Street ones could get away without going to that expense, and they've since learned that they can't.

This is absolutely horrible. I agree with the person who said it completely ruined the forced perspective effect on Main Street U.S.A. Just a pathetic effort.

I also agree that the covers completely defeat the purpose of the forced perspective. Hopefully they are going to try and improve the size and appearance of the covers!!

Knowing Disney they will work on this until they figure out the best way to cover these things.
I am sure the first time they went up was for a test fit. I am sure it will look much better after they attach all the fancy stuff.

They will remain as you see them for now. There are plans to move the projectors from the enclosures on Main St and integrate them into the buildings, but that I don't think has been approved yet. The one on Cosmic Rays is considered permanent and the group in the Christmas Shoppe is already integrated in the building so it too is permanent.

Just so am I clear when we say permanent are we talking Sorcerer's hat at DHS permanent or Epcot SSE Wand Permanent? :king:

I hope this gets approved and the projectors get moved "inside" the buildings in some way to hide them. Putting any sort of covering or decoration around them on the roofs ruins the forced perspective of the Main St. buildings. I guess we will have to live with them for now though.

The Cosmic Rays coverings work fine to hide the projector as it blends with the architecture, and the the Liberty Square one is so well hidden you would never even know its there. Hopefully they can find a way to do the same with the Main St. projectors.

Can someone post a picture of the Cosmic Rays coverings for those of us who can't go regularly. I’m just curious what they look like.
