Theme Parks Allow Visitors to Skip Lines

I live between 30-45 minutes away from Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ. I used to go about once a summer (since my friends had free passes....it's so dirty there, I wouldn't pay a dime to get in) But, since I don't believe that their system to pay to get to the front of the line is ethical, I haven't been since they instilled that. What does this system say to a young child? Money can buy love? It's hard enough to get the money for a family to go to GA for a day, and then they have to pay extra to go to the front of the line? For a family who can't afford that, it might be showing the children that the parents don't love them. (Of course its not true, but to a young child who dosen't know better, it might seem that way.)
So, in the end, something they created to gain buisness, ended up losing mine, and probably many of yours.

I deffinetly agree. Last time I was at Six Flags Great America so many rides were closed down. It looked like a ghost park, hardly any customers walking around (they were all waiting in hour long lines) and only a small amount of rides open. Disney will always number one on my list, but when I cant go there I head to "the sweetest park on earth" Hersheypark :)
ImagineerFan, I agree with you. We go to Hersheypark every summer for a few days. It's about 4 hours away, but worth it. It's very clean, friendly, and resonably priced. And they have so many rides and 10 coasters, that there is never an extremly long line on anything. It's not disney calibur (they have "attractions" whereas Hershey has "rides") But for some thrill, Hershey is great!
(Did you go on Storm Runner? We just got back from Hershey last week....man is that ride great!)

The last time we went to Six Flags over Georgia in 2001 they had the Q-bot thing. We didn't pay for it and were glad we didn't. On at least a couple of the rides the Q-bot riders were automatically seated in the back two seats of the car. If you are in the regular queue you can choose to wait in the "front of the car" line, but the Q-bot people always get the back seats. Good in math class - bad on a roller coaster!!

Yeap I rode Storm Runner in May when I was there for Physics day with school. It was amazing! One of my favorite things about Hershey is the cleanliness and greeness of the park, and the sweet aroma of chocolate in the air from the factory. :slurp: Make sure when you go to Hershey you ride the Choloate World ride, it explains how chocolate is made and it gives you a free piece of choloate at the end! I've riden it over a hundred times and it never gets old. :)

I got the fast pass when we were at California Adventure last year and I was VERY impressed. It was my first experience with something that lets you skip lines and I thought it was just a great idea and very easy to use.

One of the good things at Universal is, that if you stay at one of their resorts, one of the perks is skipping the lines at all the rides, all the time (at both parks). Just show your room key, and you skip the line. I think Disney should try this...depending on your resort area, you get unlimited "fast pass" to all the rides in that park. For example, you're staying at The Boardwalk, you get to skip all the lines at Epcot, all the time...just show your room key. I figure Disney hasn't tried this because at this point they aren't really having problems filling resorts with guest...but I think the future it would definitely bring in more business for resorts.

Just some thoughts...

This works at USO because they have few hotels that have trouble being filled to capacity. Think about this at WDW where they have over 20 hotels that are regularly full. Terrible, terrible idea.

Of course we ride the factory tour! We practically have it memorized! Mmmm...I can almost smell the chocolate as we pass through the "roll refiners" room, and I can see the conching machines now!

Now getting back on track:
NSCMC, next think you know, we'll have to pay to sit in the front seat!
