Behind/ beside the carousel of progress there is an open air theatre...I was just wondering what it is used for? Sorry if there is another thread that addresses this!

at christmas time they have a wonderful twas the night before christmas play on the stage
most of the time i believe it is used for cheerleading squad , choirs, and other functions like that

It's used for Magic Music Days and other band events. Rarely do I see it used though for anything else. It should be removed to make room for the new Incredibles Coaster that's coming soon. :lookaroun

And a little theatrical lesson most people don't know: The building is spelled with a "er" as in Theater. The art is spelled with an "er" as in Theatre! :wave:

I've seen what appears to be band/orchestra concerts being performed there; they appear to be midschool/high school aged children.

The theatre used to have shows several times a day, each day - Kids of the Kingdom, DisneyWorld is Your World etc...

It was originally built as the Tomorrowland Theatre for WDWs 10th anniversary version of Disneyworld Is your World. Some of the later shows were great, some dire, but it always had a full house.

Remember when entertainment was that good??

Excuse me Raven but that's a common misconception. I study theatre and the word can be spelled either way. The different spellings have different origins, not different meanings.

I've studied it for over 20 years. But I was simply making a statement and not looking to argue.

As for the theatre, isn't it called the Galaxy Palace?

That would be the Galaxy Theater...

Actually, if you want to get technical, the full name is the "Galaxy Palace Theater at Rockettower Plaza".

thanks for the info guys! As for the theatre discussion Im from the uk so thats where the difference will be in spelling!
