The World's Best Hidden Treasure

There are a lot of attractions at Disney World, many of which the average tourist probably doesn't even know exist, either for lack of interest or lack of experience. What is the best attraction (or just a place) that is either off the beaten path, or terribly underrated? To put it another way, what is the best hidden treasure at WDW?

My vote would go to the little beverage shop that used to be in the land pavillion. It was so popular its not even there anymore. They had the best smoothie type ice drinks! Does anybody know what I'm talking about? They were so refreshing! They were a highlight of every visit to EPCOT. I've never found anything else quite like them.

My vote goes to Italy..... and the many performances that take place there throughout the day.

Disneyfreak, you just made me think of another. The boatride from Dixie Landings to Downtown Disney is great. It's really relaxing, and as you approach at night the view is incredible.

Sitting over near Cinderella's Fountain behind the castle. A nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Fantasyland. :)

There is a path that goes from near the arcade at the end of Space Mountain over too Mickeys Toontown Fair. Its a great shortcut and its nice and quiet......from my experiences the average tourist or first timer at WDW doesnt know it exists. Its great if your gettin to the train station at MTF and wanna get to Space mountain b4 the rest of the hoard getting off the train.

Something that most ppl dont realize is that all the stores on Main Street have side doors and connect to the shop next to it. If your like me and want to beat the crowds early in the morning b4 it gets really hot then just walk through the stores to get down Main Street. You wont have all the ppl stopping in front of you and gawking.......and your walk down MS will be air conditioned!

I'm finally back from a long hiatus and this is my first post :p

The best hidden treasure is Animation Tour at MGM Studios....they're never seem to be anybody waiting for this and it's such a neat experience, especially seeing the roots of Disney and animation.

Tough choice. I would have to pick either the Castle grounds at MK (so many people miss the Cinderella fountain, wishing well, rose garden, and other pleasant paths and areas on their way to Fantasyland) or the Expo Hall on Main Street, because of its theater showing Disney cartoons, photo ops, and being the only place in any Disney park where I've ever seen Sleeping Beauty doing meet and greets.

There are a lot of places...that are very relaxing to go to (and hidden from the crowds when you need a break). My favorites are the little courtyard near the castle and liberty square. I also like going to Exposition Hall. I can watch the movies and play that game, and no one seems to be back there later on in the day.

I am going to have to agree with Brett on this one and say the Animation Tour at MGM Studios. Its in a part of MGM that is kind of out of the way and I had never been on it until last year. It was fantastic! We got to see all the details of Lilo and Stitch being done before we ever saw any previews. That's one of the reasons we were so excited about that movie coming out... we got to see them drawing it!

Dinner in the Ben Franklin room at Liberty Tree Tavern. Best, quiet sit-down meal in MK, a real break from the action.

A table upstairs at Pinocchio Village, overlooking Fantasyland, or inside, groud level at the windows looking down at SW.

The shortcut between Adventure land and Frontierland next to the Shootin Arcade.

Place that's not there anymore-Catwalk Bar-MGM. Used to be upstairs from the Brown Derby and Sound Stage, great quiet escape for a drink and a break. Miss that place.

I like to walk over to boardwalk in the middle of the day when everyone is in the parks.

It's like you have the whole of Boardwalk to yourself.:)

We go into the ESPN gift shop to escape the heat when it gets too warm.

We just stroll leisurely around going through all the shops and usually buy a snow cone.

:slurp:

It's very relaxing and serene.
