In the past we have stayed in the Grand Floridian but this year we have booked the Wilderness Lodge because its a bit cheaper. We've never stayed in the Wilderness Lodge and was just wondering is it a nice hotel???
Thanks in advance,katief

Very nice, the rooms are smaller than the GF but the resort has nice restaurants and pools and a lobby that is breath taking. The WL is not on the monorail so there isn't as much foot traffic through the resort. The WL also does not have all of the shops that the GF has.

WL is a GREAT hotel! It's small and quaint. Even though it's super close to MK, it's very quiet. As mentioned above, the lobby is amazing. None of the rooms are very far from the lobby, dining, etc since it's all one building. The boat ride to MK is nice too. I hope you like it!! :)

We always stay at the WL, it's a great place to relax while at the world. The ambience is so nice and relaxing after a hectic day at the parks. As said the rooms are a bit smaller but the hotel always seems less busy than others we have been to. We always ask for a high up room for a good view if you have a courtyard option. The restaurants are good at all levels and the boat trip makes a change. We always talk of trying another delux but always end up back at the WL. Enjoy your trip, we can't wait to come back!

We'll be back for our fourth stay in September. Like someone above said, we can't imagine staying anywhere else. We've talked about it but we always end up back at the Lodge. Definitely take the boat to MK, it's the best way to get there and really enjoyable. The vibe at the hotel is very laid back compared to the Grand Floridian and we wouldn't have it any other way. Such a nice change from the hectic feeling in the parks.

WL is so wonderful, it is nice and compact and the lobby is relaxing at night. Plus you are so close to Whispering Canyon Cafe. We just stayed at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone in which WL is partially modeled after and now I can't wait to stay at WL again to compare, some of the architecture. Oh, try to watch the geyser go off at Wilderness Lodge it is kind of fun to see.

We've probably stayed at the Wilderness Lodge 10 times since it opened. It is by far our favorite. I love how quiet it is and all the little nooks and crannies that you can find to enjoy a few minutes. Roaring Forks is great for a quick snack and nothing beats the first time you walk in the lobby....amazing. Hope you enjoy your trip!

It's my favourite hotel of all. It's compact and comparatively quiet, relaxing, pretty, friendly and convenient. The only downside compared to the GF imo are the smaller rooms but I would much rather stay at the Lodge. The pool bar and QS are excellent. The boat to MK is a lovely trip but the bus is super quick, just a few minutes and the buses are empty. We usually use the bus when we are in a hurry, boat when we are not.

Hope you love it as much as I do.
