Lets have a poll on what everyone thinks about the Wand at Epcot coming down. Personally i think it should stay, i think it kinda symbolizes Epcot.

But what is everyones opinion?

No poll necessary - just check the numerous threads that have been posted here before.

They are FINALLY doing the right thing. I've always DESPISED that wand and "Epcot" sign that have ruined the appearance of Spaceship Earth. That thing has always looked stupid, tacky, and trashy. Too bad they're not looking for volunteer in help in destroying that thing, I'd be first in line. Nice to see Spaceship Earth's majestic appearance welcoming everyone to Epcot being restored to how it should be.

I think think the whole reason I didn't love the wand is because of artistic differences. the whole front of the park is this 80's vision of the future, a metallic deco sleek and geometric look , which is why i don't mind the leave a legacy because it fits artistically with the rest of it. But the wand though colorful, just was a totally different feel and it was very carnival to me. So I'm glad it will be removed so that the true theme of the park will return.

so no offense but the wand has nothing to do with the theme. it was just a gimic used for people to say oh yeah this is a disney park.

it's sort of like putting one of those giant ants they have for best controll vans on your mini cooper. it just doesn't work, and in fact over powers the whole view.

They need to take the wand down because it just doesn't look...right. And it's starting to look very cheesy with all of the burned out lights around the border of "Epcot".

IT should come down, but it's one of many things.

It alone shouldn't be seen as perhaps the greatness that it is getting (although a good thing nonetheless).

I always thought that the split on the wand would be closer as this site seems to be the only one where it seems to have many vocal defenders. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that an overwhelming majority here as well wanted to see the thing come down!

Haven't you ever heard of the vocal minority?

They are all members of this board!

I guess I am in the EXTREME minority, but not only did the wand not bother me, I always kind of liked it. Is anyone else with me? I consider myself to be somewhat of a Disney purist, but this seems like a relatively minor issue to be generating such anger.

Shouldn't the title of this thread be "The Wand coming down, is Disney doing the right thing?" or even better, "Wand Removal: Is Disney Doing the Right Thing?"

Yep time for the wand to go it was great for the 2000 celebration and a cool TEMPOARY idea but its now 2007 so its long past time for the wand to go it was great for about for two years but after that it was time for it to go all it was ever ment to be was a tempary decration kind of like a happy birthday banner for a kids party fun for a day or two but after that its becomes tacky.:hurl:
