Almost two years to the day since Iger was brought back with the explicit promise of finding a new CEO.

Now, within hours, we get stories about them bringing on the EA CEO and a conversation Iger’s had (with a major competitor) about a major corporate restructuring.

Josh and Dana can’t be feeling too great right about now.
They should be updating their resume because when an outsider comes in , the current team in place either stays or goes not by their choice.

Fell for what exactly? Being so foolhardy to cheer for the godawful EA CEO?

CEO's generally suck. That's the point. The odds on management getting better for the company are incredibly, incredibly narrow.
You claim not to be a bob-ite…and yet stil repeat his taglines and splain away every failure under the watch.

That’s what he has wanted all along: immunity and worship from his cult.

I said the guy bathes in snakeoil…for 15 years. Both under my current SWR muse and my old evil twin LOL. Ask around…there are witnesses that have not yet been silenced.

Fact: Iger should have been fired already…he came back as “saviour” for a problem he created and hasn’t delivered. Billions lost to investors - which is all that matters for Disney now because HE took them that way.

They are a manifestation of an ego cult. Just not a good one

Dana Walden is not going to get the job because of her political ties and the struggles of Disney+. Josh D’amaro is not going to get the job because the Disney board is not going to promote another parks guy to be CEO.

The board is going to want someone who comes from tech and Andrew Wilson is going to be the pick.
A decade of board incompetence has a price

I just don’t freakin’ get it! We always wanted for an outsider to be ceo of Disney, and here you guys are, complaining this and complaining that, and you guys have trust issues with CEO’s! I don’t know who this Andrew Wilson, in fact, I don’t know who should be the CEO of Disney! This discussion forum is nothing but hate and fearmongering! Which I did that too. I just don’t get it! What do you guys want from Disney? I just don’t understand!😢

Well we know he and Bob would have something to bond over then…
This is better than a $43 Slice of Cake from Ye Olde Cake Bake Shoppe.

Bob doing his own thing to extend his tenure as CEO or CO-CEO at the same time mucking up the BOD finding an external candidate because none of the internal C-Suite Fab-4 could executive themselves out of a paper bag.

What a glorious time to be alive and watch this company strangulate itself.

I don't care if they are an outsider, but I am sure everyone would agree that whoever takes over needs to be better than the person they are replacing.

In the case of Wilson, given his record at EA, a lot of people think it will get worse.

It will interesting during the upcoming Nov 14 quarterly public earnings report with Iger, Disney CFO and Wall Street analysts if a successor question will be asked during Q&A.

Co-CEO is perfect for Iger

He can continue to run things
He has someone to blame

Kinda like he did before
"It doesn't take a genius to know that any organization thrives when it has two leaders. Go ahead, name a country that doesn't have two presidents. A boat that sets sail without two captains. Where would Catholicism be without the Popes?"

Counterpoint: Walt and Roy Disney, Michael Eisner and Frank Wells
This.

I know it is a bit reductive but, a creative entertainment company needs both. Too much on one side and you risk overextending or going under, too much on the other and you focus all on the bottom line and don't do enough.

The problem is that a single person who is well balanced between the two sides is all but impossible to find.
