The it’s true that anyone can say they INTEND to spend billions on something over the next X amount of years, but it’s not a commitment. It’s a plan. And every few years there are economic hiccups that cause plans to change. So the 60 billion is pretty talk, but it’s just Eisner’s Disney Decade by another name.

However, Anaheim is saying that they want to see a decent amount of what is being dangled in front of them as part of the 40-year Disneyland Forward plan to be done within the next 10 years - if approved. We’ll see if that pressure has an effect.

All those things were green lit when Iger was CEO and cancelled when *Chapek* was CEO. What can you point to that was cancelled during Iger's tenure?
As time goes on…that harsh take may actually look different? Disney has hit some hard times on the financial ledger and chapek may have been doing what most companies would describe as the “right” thing to do

But he was a buffoon and it wasn’t right for Disney.

But let’s see what Bob does now? Is he scared enough to get off his teaked can and do something? Like stop milking your parks till collapse and stop letting the studios make experimental film out of bankable Hollywood franchises?

It’s always possible things turn better - but not likely…

But hope is all we got, Leia

Yeah…the guppies around here bit on that lure hook, line and sinker.

“$17 BILLION FOR DISNEYWORLD!!!!😡

But it’s not trust worthy at all. And on the accounting ledger may not account for what fans are hoping for.

But the next few months are key. Do SOMETHING…which they are not doing as Uni is about to increase the size of their complex by 30%+ without breaking a sweat.

Think Bob is scared enough to move? We shall see

He was asking for that for one simple reason - so he could then turn around and say 'thats not a good way to spend money' and ask for it not to be spent.
Most likely

But that doesn’t change the bobs have been caught COMPLETELY flat footed as it currently stands and have made cancelling things in the last 5+ a standard operating procedure

There’s some work on credibility to be done here.

I disagree, I’d take the DVC at the campground over the budget Poly DVC they replaced it with in a heartbeat, the Mary Poppins area looked charming and a great use of a small unused space, SSE desperately needs a refresh… I just remembered the play pavilion, which they also cancelled so the big building that’s been unused for a decade remains an empty building. Woohoo.
Good thing you agree with the campground DVC, because they've been working on it for weeks. Old trailers are being taken out and new buildings are being installed at Ft. Wilderness.

There are requirements in the DLForward agreement as to what spending has to be done and when. They must spend $1.9b within the first ten years, and if they don't spend at least $2.5b, Anaheim would receive a (admittedly paltry $5m) bonus payout.

Those ten years are going to be a LOT of infrastructure first, so the money would be ramping up towards the end. Realistically, they have to build the new garages and elevated walkways first, which aren't that expensive but take time before they can even start doing anything with the areas currently used for parking that will eventually be park space.

Indeed, in the aftermath of this vote, they’ve got to LOOK like they are the sane, profitable, growing ship they are claiming they are. So I’m pretty confident SOME big investments in the parks will be committed over the next 6 months and will bear fruit over the next few years. But after that they could penny pinch again.

I know there’s been a running debate and I’ve bit my tongue

But you can’t make excuses for this one. It’s not dvc. It’s a prefabed trailer park (as in these are being built in a factory and rolled off) with no amenities.

It’s a bloated points pig. Another in a shocking streak of things to pump up numbers while the parks investments needed to maintain dvc value are not being done.

They continue to push it in a direction that cheapens it

But it’s advantageous for them to invest heavily in Anaheim as it stands to balance out their parks revenue a little

Troubling signs in Orlando…

Well most of us are parks fans first and foremost. That’s why we’re critical of their managmenent.

There are some that don’t even go to Disney parks and fight for the current management…that one is being studied by NASA in its theoretical modeling lab 🤓

So we get to see if it was all bluster under the threat of Peltz?

And if they get moving…they needed the kick too.

Peltz might in a way become the Prisoner of Azkahban in all this? Stranger things have happened.

Not disagreeing with your general point (shocking I know).

But like it or not, this is a DVC resort now. You saying it isn’t doesn’t make it so.

But it’s crap. Because it’s built without standards

Opinion never outweighs realities. Objectivity still is a thing.

This is specifically why i’m not trying to to counter Captain America attempting to make this out like it’s genius? It’s just to feed their point beast with shockingly low investment.

If I wanted “I think it’s worth it to ME…” I know who to find.

They’ll collapse the thing at this rate and then I’ll get the hate for saying it first

We had the pump, now we will have the dump.

DIS is down over 1% in premarket. Foreshadowing the end of the great proxy war of 2023/2024.

All hail Bob, Slayer of Peltz, lord of the house of mouse, may his contract be forever extended.
It will be interesting to watch what happens

Best thing for fans is if starts to tank a little and sweater boy has to hurry up and make good on 6 months of promises

It’s gotta get there first

They need xmen like yesterday

The next couple MCU movies are thoroughly planted in the “flop to meh” category
I am not convinced X-men is the best way to go. Which version of X-men to use? I would much rather see FF in first, with a strong story and also introducing Dr Doom(MCU NEEDS a REAL villian).

Then slowly bring in X-men after that. Just me

Just my opinion here....
but I don't think Cabins will stay DVC...
I DO think they eventually build something on the Reflections site to become the DVC, then knock cabins back down to regular pricing. To me this is a money grab and or points grab until the other DVC site is built.

Just my gut on this...
