Yes
For everyone in this thread complaining about Peltz, just remember who put Disney in this position.

Bob Iger.

As a vacationer, I would hope that what comprises the domestic Disney Parks survives physically intact and operationally is improved. I am not concerned about the future Chinese partnership parks as Disney has a minority stake, OLC has Tokyo Disney working better than the US parks, and Disneyland Paris has a good future.

As to the rest of the current DIS snowball I question like others what are the actual, not aspirational, core competencies of the company. There are quiet a few examples of those that reached too far and have had to backtrack.... AT&T being a good comparison (as well as an official Disney Sponsor)

And most of us are more than ready for him to move on, you just don't purposely take something worse.

If someone would seriously rather the company fail or be torn apart instead of live with Iger a little while longer than you are looking at a person that is more interested in revenge vs. what is actually good for the company.

What's the alternative? Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs? Alan Horn? Josh D'Amaro? Where's the visionary coming to save Disney? No one is coming to save Disney. And do you trust Iger's handpicked board to find someone who can actually lead Disney forward? Remember this is the same board that picked Bob Chapek only to 180 a few years later.

Reversing the mistake that was the ABC/ESPN purchase would be a huge win. If Peltz proposes that, then I would be over the moon. Either way Disney will probably remain systemically broken for the next decade+. This is the late 1990s early 2000s again. It will take years of patience for Walt Disney Co. to get back on track if it's not bought out first.

The same board that picked Bob Chapek AND RENEWED Bob Chapek's contract!

We will never know what Bob Chapek would have done for the company, we know he loved to cost cut the parks, but that is still happening so there is no difference there, we know he was not an Iger yes man, so there is a possibility the company would have made better choices when it came to Disney+ and the movies, BUT we will never know.

What's the answer? I don't know.

Lets see what happens with the parks in response to EPIC. Lets see what happens to the response to 2023 the worst year in movie making I think in the history of the company? Lets see what happens with their streaming service.

The years to come will be interesting.

Who thinks WDW has anything planned as an EPIC response?? Even if WDW does, it would be 10-15 years out.

Oh, I am confident there is NOTHING PLANNED.

It will be interesting to see if there is any response by Disney to EPIC.

Disney will wait and see if there is a dent in their business and react if needed. They are good at reacting.

$DIS needs to be torn apart and focus on core competencies

It is wild. I was sure that Disney was going to have something great planned. Even if they announced that they were breaking ground tomorrow on all sorts of new lands and rides we'd still be like 3 years out. Maybe they'll try to squeeze the Dinosaur/Indiana Jones refurb in? But we're getting to the end of the runway fast and nothing is coming. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Avatar was famously their big response to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. So, it only took seven years for Disney to show Universal its place. By then Universal had opened a whole second land. :banghead:
