I had the most wonderful time waiting for Fantasmic to begin as I did watching it! You have probaberly all done this before too. The show started at 7 and we went to get our seats at 6, by 6:20pm the theatre was full, so about 10-15minutes before the show started we all did the Mexican Wave round the theatre. It was so funny and it was just great to be involved is such a wonderful atmosphere. I also love it when everybody cheers when Mickey appears. I just simply fell in love with that show, and Fantasmic was the last thing I saw during my time at WDW, MGM was the last park we went too and we finished off the day with that show! Anybody else do that before Fantasmic?

Sorry, we call it the mexican wave in England, though I'm to sure where your from though! It's just where you wave your arms up, then the person next to you does, then the next, but in our situation it was more like each section did it, then the next......

One time while waiting for the show, I used a Skyliner that a CM let me borrow and swung it around while it said "Buy Me!" In the process, she sold about a dozen of them and gave me a second one to use (I had to give them back). This one I made say "Look ma, I can make words."

Someone seems to start the wave at some point everynight. I have never seen the show without the wave before hand.

i think its a fairly common way to keep the guest from rioting :lookaroun

when you consider that there several thousand guest sitting on unconfortable metal benches for a hour, its only to keep people entertained

i've seen it used for the indy stunt show as well, they also somtimes use screaming contests to pit different sections of the audience against each other:fork:

so, call it that disney touch, or a way to prevent people from loosing it. your choice:animwink:

last time i saw fantasmic, there was this group of people who did kept on starting the wave, echoeing cheers, and things like that.

i do miss the preshow entertainment that they used to have there...

One other thing I noticed guest doing before Fantasmic starts is singing along with the music. There was a group of teenage girls really getting into singing along with "Part of Your World" and "Under the Sea"

I found myself singing along as well...

The coolest wave i experiend was the camera flash wave. The CM's coordinated it. From one end to the other they asked us to set off our cameras. It was pretty cool to watch the sparkling wave go from one end to the other.

I thought maybe this was some kind of one-finger wave

Yeah, we just call it the wave here on this side of the pond. Never heard of it referred to as the Mexican Wave.

It's cute the first few times, but after about 20 minutes of it, I would rather be jabbing hot needles in my eyes!

I haven't seen those chair guys in a few years.

I remember once, we had a real 'talented' crowd for the wave. Besides the traditional left-to-right & right-to-left waves we started from the two ends and met in the center (and then started in the middle and went to the two sides). I think we even did a top-to-bottom wave.

One thing I know is that after 20-25 minutes, it gets annoying real fast.

I agree the pre-show entertainment was great, it should come back...

This last time though right near us was this tall skinny kid selling all the light up things they sell. He was dancing to the music they had on and swinging one of the word making ones. It was right before the superbowl and he was swinging one that said "Go Eagles" on it to the delight of half the crowd. Then a little while later he put it down and picked up one that said "Go Patriots" to the delight of the other half. Pretty funny. Then he did all sorts of other sayings. Here are shots of two of them:

The wave started when we were there. After about 4 or 5 times, we kept thinking it was the last time, but no, it started again.... and again.... and again! We laughed every time. It was a good time.

I like how the second one says "I'm single"
