Every year I go to Disney it is tradition to go to the Magic Kingdom on the last night and watch the fireworks (Fantasy in the Sky and Wishes), then we take the ceremonial walk through the castle and into the jam-packed Main Street USA. It normally takes about 20 minutes to walk down the street in the crowd because of one thing....the outstanding number of strollers. I believe Disney should either remove the rental of strollers for good or at least cut down on the number of them in circulation. They conjest everything and sometimes you look into one and you see a kid that has to be at least 10 years old!! Does anyone agree that the stroller situation needs to be taken into consideration?(Tip:You can avoid some of the crowd if you take the secret way through park gates!!)

Maybe they should open a "Single Walkers Line" on Main Street after the fireworks..

:animwink:

Wow. That's actually a really good idea. There's nothing worse than having someone repeatedly ram a stroller onto your heals. Someone did that to me even when I was a kid!

i don't think you understand how much parents need the strolers. :veryconfu

Very true. Obviously OP doesn't have young children  . Besides, if they stopped renting strollers, most parents would just bring their own :hammer:

I have to agree here, strollers are needed in the park for people with kids. And I am sure if you have seen the kids in the strollers, you will also notice that in half the strollers the 10 year olds are passed out cold.

A much simpler suggestion why not divide main street into sections. One half for strollers, wheelchairs, and ecv's the other half for pedestrians. Along the route you have crowd control castmembers with the light wands directing foot and wheel traffic.

Why not do what we do. Have some Ice Cream, Take a seat and wait while the park emptys, it's only a half hour or so and it's so nice leaving with less people in the park and the monorail or ferry. Sit back, relax and enjoy life.

Or you can always eat somewhere and watch the crowds thin. My favorite is Tony's Right after wishes, and you catch Spectro just as your food arrives. Then, you sit and watch the crowds go by, before finally getting out of the park.

I feel the families have a right to have the use of a stroller. There is going to be congestion, this is the most attended theme park in the country, so it's just one of those things you have to deal with. Stay and relax and enjoy the Kiss Goodnight at the castle.

I think it is safe to assume that you don’t have kids. For those of us who do have kids WDW would be impossible without strollers. I doubt it would be very pleasant for anyone else either. Pick one, exhausted five year old screaming their head off or exhausted five year old passed out in a stroller. The choice is pretty obvious.

You'll really hate me, then, I bring a stroller in just to carry my stuff. My daughter has long outgrow the stroller. I comes in handy to intimidate those idiots who block entrances and walkways and to break up the gangs who insist on taking up a whole walkway walking only one direction and blocking those want to go the other way.

Strollers are definitely a necessity at MK if you have kids. It bothers me when people complain about strollers, kids running around, etc at Disney. MK for the most part was created for kids, so adult visitors should realize that and just relax. I do, however, believe that those with kids/strollers should be courteous to those around them. For instance, we bring our own stroller on the buses, but I always make a point to head to the back of the bus and stay out of others' way. I don't like being run into or blocked by a stroller either, but you have to allow them at Disney because of all of the kids.

Maybe things will get better if you use the default size and font.

Please??

Stop renting them?!
You just said, yourself, that there are insane numbers of strollers out there. At $7 or $8 a pop (depending on if you return it at the gate and get your disney dollar back, which of course they end up getting back anyway) think about how much revenue that is. That is like selling you two Mickey ice creams and then getting them back at the end of the day to sell again tommorrow!
Sorry, strollers are staying.

I personally think they need to rent bigger strollers for someone who is, say... 6'3"!

I have to agree with PhotoMickey. Crowds are frustrating but unavoidable. Unless you are going back home that same night, then you might want to consider taking a seat somewhere and enjoy the view. Relax......
