One of the things we go to WDW to escape from is phones. We don't let ADR times affect our day and will never make a fastpass in advance. Heck, we sometimes don't even decide which park to go to until the bus pulls up. Now, we go at slower times and adamantly resist change, but still enjoy spontaneous visits.

I wish we could be more like that. We have to take it in case our dogs boarding facility calls with an emergency, we also use it for photos!

Believe me, there is no one more adverse to planning then I am. Many a time before and now too, I have not had a clue what park I was going to visit until I was turning onto World Drive. However, there are now only a few "must see's" for me and to be sure that I do, I do plan for FP's. Last trip I was 8 days out at the time. I don't ever do ADR's because, #1 it is bad enough that the price on the entrees is criminal, but, the quality isn't anything to write home about either. So I limit my planning to FP's and always have a Park Hopper because of the fact that I am never sure what I want to do until I get there. Still I used my phone to, a) take pictures, because frankly it takes better pictures then my expensive point and shoot, and b) I don't have to remember what time I made those FP's to be active and it helps me fit in whatever I spontaneously want to do.

Just want to say that I am not pushing cell phones, I'm just trying to say why I find them very useful.

Usually all items are mini/travel size.

1.) Sunblock
2.) Aspirin
3.) Dental floss
4.) Regular gum and Energy gum (for a boost!)
5.) Some type of body splash and deodorant
6.) Contact lens rewetting drops
7.) Tissues
8.) Snacks - small bags of nuts, granola, etc
9.) Throw away rain ponchos - but last year I bought a Disney poncho.
10.) Band aids

Not in a bag though; I wear cargo shorts!

Another vote for cargo shorts! I keep the normal pocket stuff, like chapstick, wallet, and glasses (small glasses in a case for reading menus). I also have a collection of pills in a small tube, including Advil, Zantac, and some prescription pain pills if the ol' feets fail me.

Great question!

Wallet
Phone and Chargers (Disney App eats battery time- you may need to recharge phone)
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Dollar tree ponchos
Snacks
Refillable water bottle
Camera (optional)
Depending on weather, jacket, umbrella etc.

Less is more- that bag gets heavy after many hours.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

We make the fastpasses ahead of time but write them in a small notebook . If we miss them then we don't stress

We never take a bag to the parks...and never, ever do we ever bring a phone.

I used to be right there with you about the phone. I mean, if I can't enjoy a vacation day without being tethered to the rest of the world, something's wrong. But then my cell phone camera got to be better than my regular camera. So now I bring it along just for taking snaps, but not for communication!

I'm wanting to make that a rule during my senior trip with my three friends. However I also find that nearly impossible to do with most of the perks of FP+ and dining reservations being on our phones and sending is notifications and such.
Yeah, I am sure it probably makes things easier being technologically savvy and using it to your advantage. I am a grumpy old guy desperately trying to hang on to a simpler time, I suppose. Still, my wife and I do have a very good time, even though we do much less at the parks than we used to do.
Hope you have a great senior trip.

My brother has a phone that takes incredible photos. I don't even have a smart phone. Now my wife has the latest and greatest, but it stays in the room safe when we are there except when she thinks she needs it.
Glad to know I am not the only one who likes to disconnect from the rest of the world while at WDW.

I always pack in a Mailbag:

1) Bottle of water, Granola bar/Snacks
2) Chil-Its Cooling Towel
3) "Emergency" Vanity Kit (Brush Picks, Comb, Deodorant, Glass Cleaner Wipes, Gum, Hairspray, Lint Roller, Oil Blotting Sheets, Stain wipes)
4) Hand Sanitizer and Bath Wipes
5) Ponchos
6) Portable Charger (I have the Nokia 41 Mega Pixel Camera Phone so no need for a camera however there is always a need for a charge)
7) SPF Spray and cream (UVA/UVB) also chapstick
8) Travel first aid kit with Neosporin, Band aids, etc.
9) Travel medicine container with Benydryl, Pepto-Bismol, Tums, Tylenol
10) Ziploc Bags (for cell phones)

No my bag is not huge, heavy or over filled since most of the items I pack are from the travel sections at Target et al.

BTW the "Emergency" Vanity Kit is a life saver when needing to refresh for a TS dinner in or out of the park.
