Done all three. On property beats all with no competition. The only way I would stay off property again would be to go to Universal. I would stay in one of their resorts to get the express pass privileges ( and I will only do that if my DDs wear me down to see Potter Land).

the reason condos, homes were left out is because they are so radically different in value and what they offer than any resort, hotel ect

I have stayed off property before at Buena Vista Palace (yeah, long time ago). We did that because we also went to Sea World and other places. Now I prefer to stay on property. Stay on property if your only Disney and don't mind paying for it. Stay off property if you are doing other things as well. Yeah, sometimes $$$ plays into it. Just do a cost/benefit analysis and do what is best for you & yours. Just go have the best vacay possible.
