Day 4, cont.
Since crowds were light and we don't usually spend much time in Future World we decided to make our way around and ride as many rides as possible. Next up: The Seas!
And now, enjoy some more blurry photos from the dark!
The Land was our natural next stop.
As we waited for Soarin' M recreated the "let me in" meme:
The original, for reference:
I, however, thought of the
In the Heights movie. Did anyone else see it? For awhile the whole musical theatre community kept saying "SHHHHH! Let me listen to my block!" which was a line that somehow made it into the movie not once, but TWICE!
If you've read my reports before you know M and I both love Living with the Land, aka the Vegetable Boat Ride. Unfortunately...
...it was closed!
At this point we pivoted from rides to snacks!
First stop: Earth Eats! While we waited to order we used our umbrellas to shield ourselves from the VERY HOT sun. A man behind us called us "the smartest people in Epcot!"
- Impossible Three-Bean Chili (gluten/wheat friendly; plant-based; new) – $5.50
- Spiced Apple Twinings of London Chai Tea with Whiskey (new) – $11.00
- The Impossible Burger Slider with Wasabi Cream and Spicy Slaw on a Sesame Seed Bun (plant-based) – $6.00
Everything was really good! The chili was a HUGE portion...almost too huge for how hot it was outside
Initially we stood at a barely-shaded tall table, but we were watching the people at tables with seats and AS SOON AS a family left one we ran over to claim it. After we finished the first round of snacks I went off to buy the next ones while M saved the table.
Monorail!!
From The Noodle Exchange:
- Tofu Pho with Enoki Mushrooms and Thai Basil (gluten/wheat friendly; plant-based; new) – $5.50
- Playalinda Brewing Company Yaupon Brothers Green Tea Pale Ale, Titusville, FL (new) – 6 oz. $5.00 / 12 oz $9.00 (we had the 12 oz, OBVIOUSLY)
The pho was tasty and actually had some spice from the red chilis. The beer was quite refreshing on a HOT day but unfortunately as I was carrying it back to the table I spilled some in my mask, which was hanging around my neck...
Of course I did not have a backup so I got to smell beer every time I put it on.
Did I mention it was SUPER HOT this day?? After being outside and eating lots of hot food we were DYING. So we headed to the closest indoor Food and Wine kiosk space, which was Canada.
Unfortunately nothing on the menu sounded good to us so we didn't buy anything, but we DID enjoy the AC for a bit!
After Canada we walked over to Mexico to try:
El Tigre Margarita: Ojo de Tigre Mezcal with Pomegranate, Prickly Pear, Pineapple, and Ginger Juices served on the rocks with a Hibiscus Salt Rim (
new) – $11.50
This was really good and had a nice subtle background spice from the ginger.
I don't know why I took the following photo:
I showed M and she doesn't remember either. I guess that's what I get for writing a TR four months later...
Up next: Something we rarely get to do
