Imagineering Question of the Day: (I nearly thought I had lost my chance when Voxel said he’d be asking the Question of the Day, but it turned out it wasn’t the Imagineering Question of the Day)
As my first day of IQotD; I’d like to go my native Disneyland, Disney World. As many of you know, there was originally going to be an attraction called Fire Mountain in the southwest expansion for Adventureland but was canceled because of budget cuts to the Parks and Atlantis: The Lost Empire; which was an idea for the attraction’s theming; flopped at the Box Office. What would you put in the expansion pad in place of FM?

Good job with the question!

I would add Indiana Jones or some sort of S.E.A. based E-ticket attraction, given the Jungle Cruise and Skipper Canteen also in Adventureland...ideally some sort of flying coaster or EMV would be cool.

Bonus Question: Much like the case with Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye in Disneyland, the expansion pad would take part of Jungle Cruise (as seen here

) and the attraction would have to be rerouted. What new scene would you add on the route?

For us non-locals to the WDW area, how big is the expansion pad? Would the Indiana Jones and the Lost Expedition fit in that area (1 E-ticket and then a second E/D-Ticket depending on who you ask)?

I'd love to see Moana go here. I don't know exactly what. Maybe River Rapids? but Moana could be a great E-ticket.

If I were to make Moana a water ride, it would either be similar to older boat rides such as Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure or a water roller coaster like what Bald Mountain was supposed to be.

Personally, there are many choices I could go with. I could have an Indiana Jones EMV attraction called Indiana Jones and the Crown of the Tiger King ; which would be in a Southern Asian (perhaps Indian) temple where a guardian tiger spirit haunts, and even an Indiana Jones Mine cart roller coaster. I could have an Agrabah subland so that the Carpets can be out of the way of Adventureland’s Square. I could have a Polynesia/ South Seas subland with Moana and the newly relocated Enchanted Tiki Room (but that probably wouldn’t sit well with guests and Tiki fans). I could make a rapids ride on a cursed river that goes through a crumbling temple. There are just so many choices here.

(I’m surprised nobody has answered this until now) I would create a new stretch of the Amazon River with large butterflies on a even larger flowers, with AA frogs on a collection of lily pads and near Inspiration Falls is, I’d have an AA jaguar watching us from a tree as we go into a cave and come face to face with a titanoboa before going out to the Pygmy Welcoming Party.

@MonorailRed and @spacemt354 I'll handle the daily question today.

How do you feel about the bombshell that hit the forum last night that Disney has probably Canceled the new Theatre for Magic Kingdom? Discussion topic, why do you think it was cancel? Did they think it was stupid or are they moving the funds around to fiance something more important? Or maybe this is just crazy and nothing has changed.
Hello, I am back! Anyways let's get to answers.
1. I don't think it is canceled. The news would be everywhere if it was.
2. If it was, maybe because they figured out the building...but not the show. I found it really sketchy that they were keeping this big show a secret, made me think there was no show.

My initial answer was going to be journey into the center of the earth, but then I remembered that olc may sue.
So instead, I'm going to use another verne work, the mysterious island, which will be based on the conclusion of the book, which is the eruption of a giant volcano and having to escape the island.

We shall see.

(Oh, I could say so much more...but this is not the place)

I will say this...story and characters are paramount. They could come back next movie and knock it out of the park, and I'll look back and say this was the best "twist" mid-trilogy movie ever.

But...I sadly get the feeling that what it is really about is...Mike Bay style Transformers eye-pron scenes, mixed with barely enough character scenes to make it a "movie" (the "Bay" equation, frankly)...and, if you want the "backstory"...you need to consume all of the extra material.

Basically...remember how ticked gamers got with DLC? Well...now it is has come to movies. A half finished product sold to the masses, filled in by books, comic books, video games, etc....etc......etc.....

It is good business.

But...it is terrible storytelling.
I felt like TLJ had really good concepts/ideas, environments (the salt, the Kylo Ren & Rey battle against the red background), and had a good premise, but it was just all over the place.

The Transformers series is so bad; I still cannot understand how 4 made that much money. It's not even watchable.

DLCs are really even worse though than what Disney is doing. Disney has very little to do with the actual films themselves. Sure, they want things that can be turned to merch, but Lucasfilms is still its own entity. For me, all of the new ones are better than The Phantom Menace & Attack of The Clones, so when people say 'Disney is ruining Star Wars' it's goofy. It was already messed up, but still not ruined.

I blame it mostly on the director & writer who had good ideas for TLJ, but completely made it all over the place, and honestly, having Luke be against the Jedi but him forming a new one would have been a better cool, but it wasn't ruined because of it. I still liked it, but it could have been the Dark Knight of Star Wars. Just my two sense haha.:)

That game is brilliant!

To answer your second question, probably but that ok depends on how you use the space.

So continuing with a S.E.A. attraction idea -- what if the show building was a Victorian era building set in a jungle aesthetic...sort of like a Victorian Greenhouse...then the facade if it rose above the tree-lines would blend in with the Victorian Grand Floridian and Main Street from the Seven Seas Lagoon.

As for the ride itself...Magic Kingdom doesn't have a trackless ride, so maybe something akin to Mystic Manor? But a different story/style to the attraction

The angle might be slightly off on this image...but this would be from the Grand Floridian boat dock looking out onto the Castle - with a new 'Adventure to Paradise Falls flying dark ride hybrid coaster in the Adventureland expansion plot.

I feel like from a hotel point of view seeing Balloons like that would be slightly annoying. You can get away with things that are iconic I think this might be too fleeting though an amazing idea
