Definitely a Meet and Greet was supposed to happen... But labeled as an "attraction" a la Enchanted Tales with Belle.

I'm really happy Mine Train is there as well!

I think it really adds some energy to the landscape you just wouldn't see with everyone heading into buildings to see the princesses.
Enchanted Tales with Belle isn't too bad -- I just wouldn't want 3 of those -_-

I mean I wouldn't want 3 meet and greet locations, it would have been Enchanted Tales with Belle, Aurora's Birthday, and Cinderella in that original Fantasyland concept -- I prefer rides if possible. :bookworm:
I find even Belle to be an utter waste of space. And I'm saying that as probably the biggest Beauty and the Beast (1991) fanboy on the Imagineer side.

I think Enchanted Tales with Belle is a great attraction, but it doesn't need to be so big. I think the attraction could have been just as successful if it was smaller and a flat ride was added in there of some sorts.

It actually wasn't as succesful smaller. They had the exact same things for years done in the small courtyard where you can currently meet Merida. But no one other than little ones cared. So, they gave it a cool queue, a preshow with the cool magic mirror effect, a second preshow with the wardrobe, and added a Lumiere animartonic. But the show itself is mostly unchanged from the smaller version.

That being said, I fully agree a flat ride would have been better use of that space. Maybe a dance in the ballroom done like Rollicking Roadsters. Or a Be Our Guest themed teacups ride. Or even a very small scale, classic feeling dark ride.

I totally forgot about that old show! I think the different pre-show elements definitely adds to the show.

Question of the Day

In 2009, Disney released this concept art for the New Fantasyland expansion - which was then changed to what we see today. The question is - do you see any positive attributes to this plan and what would you have liked to see still be included from it?
It's very very very pretty.
