I had that same realization about a year ago. I feel like I'm too old for memes, Battle Royale games, and eating fast food late at night without getting a stomach ache. Which is sad because I'm in my early 20s

I don't like Fortnite at alll. Give me Unreal Champion every time. I wanna atleast know I'm gonna get a frag.

A story mode or something that will make it work as a single player experience like Brawl did. And something new thats never been done in Smash. A new and very different game mode. A very unique character (like Captain Toad and the Toad Brigade being five toads but you don't them as one person). A truly insane new level.
I want them tiy show something new and innovative to convince me to not just keep playing older smash Bros.

After finally watching the Direct, im loving the new stuff they're adding and refining. Stage transfromations look incredible! Echo characters are a great idea! The new character choices have been pretty fun and smart!
Still, for me to buy it, it needs some solid single player mode like Brawl had. I don't have great internet and I'm usually playing games solo to destress and have fun. Unlocking stuff in Smash 4 was too easy and there wasn't enough single player stuff to keep it interesting.
But everything they have shown has been absolutely incredible! Just waiting for that one more thing to make it worth it for me personally

Honestly, this film looks a little risky to me. I mean it will probably be good for now, but who knows if it will be just as good in 5-10 years. The first film was mostly based on games from the 80s, ones that were already timeless. This time they are just going for new, more topical subjects, and I fear that they screw up on this.
