This all raises an interesting question.

If given the choice between a new park or significantly expanding current parks, what would you choose?

I mean a fifth gate would be great, but so would 2-4 new rides housed in new (or expanded) lands at every park at disney world.
I choose expansions every time. Makes it easier to go from a brand new exciting expansion, to the Biergarten for dinner in the same park.

EXPANDING. Epcot and dhs have/had so many problems that desperately need(ed) fixing.
And the less said about tomorrowland the better.

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose favorite restaurant is Biergarten. All my college program friends always outvoted me for the restaurant in Japan leaving me sad and without Pretzel rolls and schnitzel

In Tokyo certainly I’d go with existing park expansion first. Same in most resorts, actually, though Anaheim is getting pretty cramped once Galaxy’s Edge is finished. And with WDW’s 4 parks having a ride count roughly akin to DLR’s 2 parks, there’s a ton of potential for strengthening places like DAK before spreading development even thinner.

Imagine the possibilities! Magic Kingdom could complete the loop around rivers of America. Epcot could get a proper, full updated Future World. Hollywood Studios could do something stupid that in no way connects to the theme of the park but will still be incredible. Animal Kingdom could add Australia or add another big attraction to every land and/or fix planet watch.

Imagineering Question of the Day: On April 26 of this year, Toy Story Land Shanghai will open. And while it ties in nicely with Toy Story Hotel, I feel like they could have used the land better than for a near identical clone of Hong Kong’s TSL (though the Woody’s Roundup attraction is a nice and refreshing touch). What would you like to see in the expansion used for TSL, or if you want to keep Toy Story Land, how would you make it different to Hong Kong’s or Paris’?

Well, considering one of my favorite projects of all time on the forum was supposed to be in that location -- I will say I'd rather have Xanadu, which would be a subsection of Tomorrowland. From @RMichael21 's Sole Imagineer Season 2

Also it's funny that I was watching this video again - and at the end we put our nametags from a few years ago, funny how something so simple at the time actually acts as a time machine for folks:) @MonorailRed @tcool123 @Flippin'Flounder @Sam4D23 @Ranky64

Toy Story is immensely popular in China, so I would in fact keep Toy Story Land. The rest of Shanghai is nothing like Hong Kong, and so it should be with their TSL.

To make it unique, and to combat Shanghai's disgusting summertime humidity, I would take a note from TDS's Mermaid Lagoon and place a majority of TSL indoors, in an oversized bedroom...Bonnie's bedroom, actually, not Andy's, which we'll surely be seeing more of in Toy Story 4. Inside can be some ride clones, like Slinky Dog Spin or the new Woody's Roundup ride, all with the usual make believe playtime premise. Entering under Bonnie's bed we find Toy Story Mania (of course), where like in Tokyo the toys have themselves created a makeshift midway for their own amusement. Show performances on a stage by Wheezy, Mr. Pricklepants, and others. A Tinker Toy playground for the toddlers.

A little outside area keeps the standard TSL backyard setting, plus a neat forced perspective suburban home entry to indoors. Maybe a bobsled-style coaster on a large Hot Wheels set. Some walkaround meet 'n' greet characters. And most importantly, NO gigantic static character statues!

My version of toy story land would have different mini lands based on different characters:
woody's roundup
cowboy themed. With Jessie's roundup merry-go-round and a new rollercoaster where you ride a toy train through the wild west. There would also be a restaurant with cowboy food (steak, beans, corn, etc.) here as well.
Zurg's lair
Buzz lightyear planet rescue will be moved to here. There will also be a few photo ops here too.
Mr. Potato Head's Carnival
This area will be filled with carnival games and a ferris wheel, as well as many carnival food snack shacks and a candy store.

Agreed. I don’t know what the deal is with those statues. They could’ve done something creative with them and made them look as those they’re made out of other toys; such as Tinker Toys; and cardboard for the head with crayon sketches for the faces, but nope. They just had to be oversized models of the characters.
