I grew up there, in Heilbronn.
Wow! My mum spent her teen years in Stuttgart and Schwäbisch hall. We are going next summer, but my first trip was two summers ago.

My family can trace our German side back to the 1600's and Falken-Gesäß (right outside of Beerfelden) , it was not until the 1860's that we arrived in New Orleans.

I spent the week cooking german food...

It's hard to find veal in US groceries!

It's even harder to find Kinder chocolate since the FDA banned it. We had to smuggle some out of Mexico AND Germany. Next year that's all I'm filling my carry-on and suitcase with.
