*Clap *ClapNo. Absolutely not. I'm literally done. Absolutely.
In no way should Frozen be incorporated into Norway. This is not just the death of Maelstrom/ Norway - it's the death of World Showcase as a whole. Perhaps that revelation is a bit melodramatic, but Disney is literally adding an attraction because the art style is vaguely Scandinavian. I find it sad that I am this angry about this, but I truly find this disgusting on multiple levels. The movie has been out for less than a year. For all we know, Frozen could be dated by the time 2016 rolls around. Disney is absolutely jumping the gun.
Getting back to the death of World Showcase notion that I mentioned earlier in this jumbled mess of a post, it truly is the death of this half of the park. Gran Fiesta can be argued. They're Central/ South American, the birds are, and they explore Mexico and its culture. Yes it's a bit contrived compared to El Rio Del Tiempo, but it still explored a bit of the culture and locales of Mexico. This Frozen attraction will do none of this. This ride is literally sending guests into a fictional world. In no way does this ride have anything to do with Norway, Scandinavia, or anything of the sort. In no way does this fit because some of the buildings look like Staves. I am honestly unbelievably angry. Perhaps I'm a bit biased though.
Since it's happening, though, I'm going to miss Maelstrom terribly. I grew up with it. I've always enjoyed it, and, in recent years, I have shown it to my friends who have not even been to WDW before. Yes it was a bit sub-par compared to other rides, and yes it was short, but what it lacked in excitement and adventure it made up for in beauty and charm. And god was this ride charming. From the cheesy lines from Odin to just the fun of it. Whether some of the "B-Movie" aspects were intentional or not, I don't really care. We're losing one of the last pieces of EPCOT to yet another act of blind synergy. I've always been optimistic of EPCOT's future, but now, quite honestly, I'm worried. The park is just continuing to lose its way. I only hope that the park does not continue in this direction, though I am positive it will.
Apologies for the rant. I also hope I'll be able to keep up with you guys more in this thread now that school has died down a bit. Goodbye.
Is it bad I barely remember Maelstrom and that fact I rode last year . Sad to see it go it really is.
Dang.6 hours!!
That thread was posted Fri. and already has 77 pages. Hint, hint Disney.I agree, I really wish that they keep the old ride and just give it some work. Makes me pretty sad.
Although, I will try not too hard to prejudge it, as Disney is always able to create amazing attractions, so I'm sure it will have some sense of "great". I will ride it, and then complain on the forums But really, hopefully it will blend in in a good way. But, if the ENTIRE pavilion becomes Arendelle, then I will join your protest Jdm
Hmmm....I wonder if the next challenge will be Norway related, in order to honor the country

Wow that does look amazing.Also.. Universal Japan just out did Universal Florida. Japan has the better Hogwarts, Look at these:
Something is living in the water
LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY
Or paint it a better color, but the water really makes a massive difference.Wow that does look amazing.
BUT... they could have learned from their mistakes and covered up that show building.
