Monty Python's Life of Brian. Great film. Not as good as Holy Grail or Meaning of Life, but great nonetheless.
Yeah, I was guessing a Monty Python movie in the back of my head, but couldn't place it.

I haven't watched Life of Brian in a while. I need to correct that. I actually preferred it to Holy Grail, though I've seen Holy Grail more because other people seem to like it better.

I prefer life of Brian, but that could be my inner nerd and love for all things classics.
I don't know why, but I like Meaning of Life the most. It's weird because everyone says that that's the weakest of the Python films. Life of Brian is great as well, I'm just not the hugest fan of it for whatever reason. It certainly has its moments, though.

Meaning of life is their deepest of films, and is very abstract. The lack of over acrching story also turns away people. That being said I do love the film. (I love all of Monty Python to be exact).

Though will all this being said, I really wanna go and watch this:

It's definitely a weird movie, especially for a surrealist comedy.

And that's a great movie as well. Not my favorite Mel Brooks (I could watch Blazing Saddles for days), but it's a great movie.

I could watch every Mel Brooks film back to back. There isn't enough, though on another note in Girl Meets World the Actress (Cloris Leachman) who plays Frau in Young Frankenstein and Nurse Deisel in High Anxiety makes an appearance.

History of the World is fantastic. Mel Brooks in his prime. Really I think he started to go downhill after Spaceballs, and while Men in Tights was amusing, it wasn't nearly as good comedy or satire as his earlier work.

NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!

I love Mel Brooks because, just when I think I've caught every joke and reference, I'll go back a few years later and watch it again, and catch more. His comedy (in his prime) was so layered and intelligent satire.

I would agree, I tend to forget about the 3 films that follow Spaceballs, but the rest dang. I really need to buy the bluray collection.

That's cool. I remember watching The Muppet Movie a month or two ago in the first time in forever, and suddenly Madeline Kahn(Lillian Von Shtupp from Blazing Saddles) shows up, and Mel Brooks later. Cloris Leachman was great in Mel Brooks' films, though.

Sad story as to why the lead in Blazing Saddles wasn't Richard Pryor. If you are into the film you should look it up. Gene Wilder tells the story.

That being said, circumstances aside, I'm actually glad it wasn't Richard Pryor. I think Cleavon Little was perfect for the part, and his chemistry with Gene Wilder and the rest of the characters (playing the straight man as the world goes crazy around him) was perfect.

I haven't heard the story in a while, but I remember it being sad.

I agree completely. Honestly, it might have been a bit distracting if Richard Pryor was in the lead. Cleavon Little played the part absolutely perfectly. Everyone did. Especially Slim Pickens. Slim Pickens is amazing.
