(if you are interested what the tech world is thinking...)
Ugh the government Needs out of government security. They only use it for themselves. Just like recent report seem to suggest that healthcare.gov shares information to google and other advertisements. Makes you wonder what else is going on

Heh, you know my thoughts on this. I won't share them here. But, it's out there (and no, I don't mean conspiracy stuff) to find. They aren't even hiding it all that well.

I can only imagine...
Not really. It was pretty standard internet fare.

But still personally amusing.

I used to actually work for the GOP as a copywriter back in the 90s for a short period. So, I found it amusing, as I've looked back into it from time to time for freelance stuff, and they are technologically ignorant as an organization.

(if you ask me "can we make that an app?", I'll immediately assume you are stupid when it comes to technology)

Not that the DNC isn't...the DNC is a different sort of technologically ignorant. Note, our POTUS told an amazing NASA mission astronaut to "instagram it"...

But, at least the wh.gov admin who set up the youtube event knew enough to turn off chat and comments!

@Sam4D23

As you are interested in this sort of topic...

You should spend some time researching. You'll find that politics have changed a lot, but the issues have not. In fact, the issues we discuss as a society haven't changed in a VERY long time.

I post this as an example only. Also, note the costs of Harvard (about 10 mins in) vs what it costs today. And then step back, and think.

You should seek out other writings and videos to see how little politics has really changed, and how much it has, in terms of how it's marketed.

You'll find that politics hasn't changed much. You'll also find that the issues we debate as a society haven't changed much. And, furthermore, you'll find that our society hasn't changed much and is far more profitable and culturally "rich" than we ever have been.

If you really want to have a political debate, I'm game...not here on this thread, but you have a lot to learn. So, stop assuming what you are fed educationally is all there is, that is the first fatal conceit.

Which leads to economics...and the fatal conceit (yes, I'm winking at you @LittleGiants16 )

To give you an idea how stupid the younger generation is, I'm in a debate right now with a deaf guy about how "Sign language" (his standpoint) is insulting to deaf people, and how "lip reading" should be not only nationally taught, but also subsidized.

This...is...madness...but it is the world we live in, thanks to people voting their "noble" ideals instead of facts.

I shouldn't have used the broad stroke term "younger generation"...because it's certainly not limited to any one.

However, it does seem more pervasent from people on the internet, which generally means a younger crowd. I didn't clarify that.

But, yeah, that was me after that conversation on IRC last night (I eventually just gave up...:p)

I get it if he's saying that deaf education could be made more thorough to prepare deaf people with more day to day life skills to help them in the job market, and that's why he thinks greater emphasis could be placed on that in current curriculums...

BUT, that's not the angle he took. You'd think that sign language killed his dog or something! :p

Oh well...
