Or, more specifically, the Skyliner towers need paint.

I mean, there's nothing that screams "Caribbean Beach" like bare industrial steel.

When the skyliner was installed on the water the alligators were disturbed and had to go to another body of water until construction was finished. The gators probably are happy the skyliner is up and running so they can return and live a gators life. No need to disturb Florida's wildlife again.🐊🐊

It also would lead to myriad complaints about the paint peeling, which is inevitable given the limitations of paint in the rigors of the Florida weather.

What a beyond bizarre thing to write. Under that theory then why paint ANYTHING at WDW ???

If the structure needs paint due to aesthetics and theme continuity, then paint it. If it doesn't, then don't.
It should not be about whether or not there is a potential for maintenance criticisms.

If they painted them, then in six months time you would be complaining about the poor quality of the paint finish and that they need repainting! Much better to leave them as galvanised steel that doesn't need any further maintenance.

Another beyond bizarre statement to make.

Again decision to paint or not paint should not be based on prospective gripes over a lack of maintenance.

We should have never painted Toy Story Land because now there are complaints about peeling and faded paint. Sheesh

I think you need to look at the towers a bit closer as they have a zinc epoxy coating and are not bare steel. Methinks your complaint is that they are not garishly painted as if they were a line of fanciful candy canes or some drug-induced Andy Warhol nightmare.

But there is a big difference between a highly themed atmosphere inside a theme park and a transport system. Should the monorail supports at the Poly and Grand Flo also get painted?

I'll expect to see your Go Fund Me page for the "Paint The Towers!" effort as soon as possible.

Correct.

And that is exactly my point.

Thus, decisions to paint should not be based on potential criticisms of lack of maintenance. Decisions to paint should be based on context or appropriateness.

Just an imaginative thought on my end. Would these look good with Ivy or some sort of other native plant growing off of them? Would this even be possible? I'm sure there is some sort of feasibility and added cost issue associated with it. But just a thought.

I agree that they should be a different color than what they are. I understand paint on galvanized steel doesn't work, but they could've used a different material. The color could have been picked to match the background. Disney normally does a very good job of this. I'm surprised they left these 'unfinished'.

really? this is a complaint? I too have been to the Caribbean and the telephone polls are not painted so actually they fit perfectly. Actually this could keep folks complaining for quite, LOL there would need to be a thread complaining about the color, the paint job and when they start peeling, the poor maintenance
