I used to be a HUGE Simpsons fan, but the episodes have been bad to mediocre at best for years now. Its a shame that they didn't get a ride, and a movie, in their prime. This ride seems about 10 years too late.
Also, I'm sure there will be a few uninspired knocks at WDW in this, too... sigh.
I have become a nostalgic Simpsons fan, myself. While I hardly ever catch any of the newer episodes, and the ones I do see seem less than inspired, I have been watching some of the older episodes on DVD from their golden years and have really been enjoying them.
I think that the Simpsons, in this way, can be timeless. Just because the new episodes aren't good doesn't necessarily mean that they can't cash in on the popularity of the history of the series as a whole.
They could have timed it better (Like having the ride open with the movie...kind of a no brainer) But I am always going to be a Simpsons fan.
Hopefully, it's more like the Simpsons Movie(ROCKED!!!) and less like the Simpsons Game(SUCKED!!!).
I completely agree. The movie, while it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, wasn't wonderful, but I really enjoyed the game.I think the opposite!
I was well dissapointed with the film and i'm a major simpsons fan.
I'm glad also that I don't know too much about what the ride will be like as it will be better to experience it myself.
