The saddest day at Disney...

The saddest day for me this last trip was our "day off" while in DTD I realized our trip was a little over half over. I realized it was going to end while making sure to buy everything I wanted to bring home. The last day didn't feel like a regular last day because we spent it with @disneysince71 and her lovely son! That was actually one of my happiest days there!

In Dec. 2011, we were waiting at the POFQ for our ride to the airport to go home. DS (5 at the time) was not happy about leaving. To cheer him up, a cast member at the front desk gave him a plastic gold coin and told him to toss it in the fountain and make a wish. A little while later the car service pulled up and DS lost it. The whole ride to the airport he bawled, saying "my wish didn't come true, my wish didn't come true!". The poor driver had to listed to him for 40 minutes, but my heart was breaking as well. He said his wish was to live at Disney World and never leave!

It's less hard for me because I know I'll be back in six months. It's always hard to go home, though.

Now leaving Disneyland was tough because I have no idea when I'll be back. I will be back; just who knows when. Aulani was tough because I doubt I'll EVER be able to go back. Not unless they develop a cure for allergies sometime in my lifetime.

My saddest day is watching the castle get smaller and smaller as I ride to the TTC on the ferry to get in my car and head to the airport on our last day of the trip. I especially hate it in the winter, because I am leaving sunny, warm weather and heading to cold, dreary weather back home.

Man that is rough right there. Im a dad with 6 and 5 year old daughters and I couldn't imagine how I would answer that or what I would do if that happened.

Fortunately, I haven't dropped an ice cream in Disney World. I mean, I eat mine on a stick or in a bowl indoors! Anyway, I think the disappointment and sadness really starts on your last full day and then, it just keeps growing when you have to pack, check out and leave and then head home. In all honesty, I think the worst part is not knowing when I'll come back. Sure, some of you can plan it easily but not for me. I'm not at liberty to comment on my financial situations but I think it could be a while before I return to WDW. I already have WDW set as my destination for my next personal big time vacation whenever it may be so that helps! You just feel so many emotions in a very short span when taking a WDW vacation. Happiness of booking, the anger and impatience or excitement of waiting and travelling, exhilaration when you finally arrive and every moment you spend and then, the pain and sorrow of having to leave. When I returned home on my last trip, you won't believe how many times I listened to Frank Sinatra's My Way on the train ride back to my college dorm and the line, "I did it my way" struck my heart every time I heard it. The dream trip was over but at least, I did what I wanted.

I wish..I have looked at various estate agents and villas in Kissimmee in the past..Was gobsmacked I could buy a 3 bedroom with pool for $200000.( two hundred thousand ) ;) Our villa was estimated at $380,000 ( three hundred & eighty thousand ) last year.

Agree..If I remember correct, and I could be way wrong here, but you had to have ££££££££££££££££££££in your bank account if you wanted to live in Jersey. I believe the recently parted Alan Wicker lived there..
