I'll never forget the first time I saw the hotels in Vegas.New York,New York. Luxor, Bellagio etc..Awesome,jaw dropping. But what resort at WDW looks like the real deal. The first time you look at it you realise that your now at Disney. Having seen most of them, from the outside anyway.I love the look of The Swan & Dolphin.Ive never been inside but from outside they look awesome. So what are your first impressions of that Disney dream resort.?

There isnt a resort on Disney property that I dont like the looks of. Contemporary Ive literally grown up with, Grand Floridian is so well done but didnt enjoy our stay there, Polynesian my son grew up there, Wilderness Lodge reminds me of the Old Faithful Inn, ALL of the resorts are extremely well themed and appointed.

I think all the resorts are the real deal although I have yet to visit the All Stars, AofA, PORS/POFQ, SSR, OKW, and WL. However the ones that I entered their lobbies, walked their grounds or had the good fortune of staying on premises have definitely been what dreams are made of.

Even though it's only a moderate, and not necessarily my favorite resort I have to say CSR was pretty magical for me...the grounds are beautiful...the hammocks on the sandy beach in front of our cabana so peaceful..

The way the Grand’s entrance is laid out is amazing. When you drive up to it for the first time it gives you goose bumps. A truly breathtaking view of a beautiful hotel you are about to experience.
Yeh,agree. But way to grand for me.I'am yer average working man and it would give me goose bumps when I get my bill.:(

Polynesian was the first one we stayed at.... My jaw dropped once we stepped into the lobby... the beauty, the atmosphere, etc.. At that moment I knew I would NEVER stay off property. Our next trip was Contemporary... again I knew staying on property was for us. POFQ has been home since then... I made the right choice and have never had regrets.

i have stayed at all the all star resorts, animal kingdom lodge, art of animation, port orleans, and have visited a couple others...i have to say they all have their own disney excitement. i look forward to staying at others that i have not because i know their disney magic will be there too. goal in life is to stay at all the resorts at least once.

Grand Floridian. Hands down. It was usually the hotel they stayed at on tv if a family went (think Full House!) the smell, the ice cold air walking in and looking up at that huge lobby. It's another world.
Poly was always our favorite family hotel, so I'll always have a spot for that. Even the "cheap" rooms usually can view the monorail, which fascinated me as a girl. And the bunnies all over the grounds blew my mind! The walk to the front door hearing the waterfall, the smell. It makes me smile just picturing it.

Now, with all the hotels, for a first timer though I might be inclined, though pretty tacky, to say AoA or a budget hotel. The theming is so DISNEY in your face, it's hard to not take something from it.
