I'm sorry but, I posted a very innocent topic earlier about asking CM's about the stereotype by many that people in characters are pedaphiles. I mentioned it because of the tigger incident. Now, I was sitting here in my post defending CM's and the like that are characters and some of you come in and take 10 points away from me and leave me very harsh responses privately. I think this points thing has gone too far and needs to be done away with.

Sure we should ignore it but, then what's the point of it?

You can't be serious, can you? How can you consider essentially accusing all the Cast Memebers who work as characters pedofiles as "very innocent topic"? You post was completely inflammatory and designed to get a rise out of people. So you got what you wanted and now you start another thread to complain about it?

I considered that thread to be inappropriate for the forum and removed it. I am not really surprised that members felt it to also be inappropriate, and responded with reputation points.

Mr. Pisco I think you should have read the entire post. I never once accused them of anything. I do not create the stereotype. I think it's ignorant to pretend that a stereotype doesn't exist because of mindless people out there. I was adamantly defending the CM's. Goodness man, you must have never ready that, then you go thrashing my points because of it? I simply asked a question of if someone could explain to me the whole "character world" and what it's like. Thanks alot for the thrashing. Read the entire post next time.

Well Steve with all the "questionable" posts that stay on these boards, I really am disappointed that you felt it appropriate to remove it and then justify the point loss.

Looks to me if there's going to be "fair" moderation, it should be all around.

I posted it completely innocently from my end. Trust me. I think the appropriate way to approach it is to nicely address to the person that you feel it's a little out of line.

I received inappropriate responses to my account. I think people are way too sensitive at times.

I greatly greatly greatly appologize to anyone who was offended by my post. I never meant it to be offensive. I was really defending the same people that are upset by it. I appologize. I guess I am just one not to let the little things bother me and like a good discussion. I guess discussion boards were not the place for things like that. I appologize.

I think that it wasn't so much what you said. I think people could see that you were defending CMs and the like. However, I think people were letting you know that the post was an inappropriate topic for these forums. We have a wide range of age ranges here we need to be sensitive to the topics we choose to discuss.

Sometimes I really like your posts and sometimes, like the one about characters, I scratch my head and go huh? I myself was tempted to leave you a negative rep point, but like I said... I think sometimes, you don't think before you post. So I am giving you the benefit of a doubt.

The point system can be abused, but overall it does give you a heads up on people....

I thought it was an inappropriate thread too. I didn't give you negative points, but I'm glad it's removed. Perhaps, as I Monday morning quarterback, you should have privately messaged those on the boards that you know are CM's and asked them personally. Maybe that would have helped if you hadn't posted what some believe to have been a sensitive/controversial subject.

As for Steve's moderating options, it's his board. Whatever he does is fair, whether we like it or not.

Firstly, if you find questionable posts on the forum, you should report them to a moderator using the link by each post. No questionable posts are left here deliberately. I always moderate as fairly as I can.

In this case, notifying the poster wasnt my priority, I felt the thread was totally unacceptable, and my priority was to remove it as soon as possible. Nicely addressing the poster is used when a thread has slightly drifted or people are getting argumentative.

Fair enough, I did not read the entire post. Because of my perception of you based on numerous posts of your from the past, I chose not to read the entire thread. You seem to me to be somebody who wants to "stir the pot". I didn't feel like playing along. However, I was not one of those who gave you negative reputation points. If I had I would have attached my name to it. I wouldn't like to get negative rep points anonymously so I won't do that to anybody.

Lastly, you claim that "I do not create the stereotype.", when in fact I think you do. I have never had the perception of the character CM's as pedophiles nor have a seen many (actually any) people espouse this belief. You are the only person to have stated that this is they way they are seen. If you cannot supply evidence to support this as being a common perception, I would assert that you are creating the stereotype. But this is just my opinion.

Ultimately, if you are going to bring up controversial topics, expect dissent and negative reputation points. I suspect I have garnered a few myself with my responses here. So be it. It is worth it to me to express my opinion on the matter.

Sorry you feel the way you do about my posts. I don't stir the pot but like to create posts other than just Matter of fact things. I mean, discussion boards are not for posting just facts and breaking news. Discussing can be done. I am a mature enough person to discuss things. I did not make the perception. Just because you have not heard the stereotype doesn't make me the creator of it, as I am not and actually ask people that are not disney fans about characters and many will have negative ideals of them. That was my point.
Also, I appreciate you not giving me negative feedback for something like this. Some were pretty viscious in their responses, much worse than anything I said (which is contradictory).

I have no problem with responses but I have a problem when it's just removed for no reason at the time and no discussion involved. However, that is Steve's decision and that's the way it is. I guess i'll just leave more discussion oriented subject for other Disney boards and keep to basics here.

I've said it before, but if you get a negative rep point, don't take it to heart. You can either take note of what's been said, or you can completely ignore it - your call. If you know it has been given to you unfairly..so what? Just leave it and be the better man (or woman!), after all, people aren't going to bypass your posts just because you haven't got super high rep. Moving on from negative rep, if you get a good rep point, then great - someone likes what you are saying and that's a good feeling. It works both ways, you've just got to not let the negatives get to you!

I gave you negative rep because you offended me and insulted my friends and girlfriend with your comments. I found them extremely offensive. As spaceracer said, its a complete slap in the face to all CMs. I agree wholeheartedly with him.
