The perfect age??

there is no perfect age really. debatable to say that infants wouldn't be able to enjoy the experience, but really that's not true. ok well, no yeah they're babies, but still. it'd be like going any place with a baby, it just won't have the development yet to appreciate what's going on around them. it doesn't mean you can't go have fun, though

Our "best trip" as a family was when I was 9/10 (was bday that week), and my brothers were 8 and 6. Everyone was big enough to go on the rides and my brothers could still find the magic in Disney (They did love it then and do still love it now but they outgrew it. Our last family trip was when we were 13, 11, and 9. By then Disney had definitely lost some of it's cool factor, especially for my then 11 y.o. brother. I'm guessing they won't probably make a trip back till they have their own children, if even then). But we do have fond memories of that trip. Our earliest was when I was 7, and they were 5, and 3. That trip wasn't terrible by any means but there were strollers to deal with and more fights for my parents to have to deal with. We also didn't have the stamina to go that long, especially baby brother. He doesn't remember any of that trip at all except that he fell in love with Pirates...seriously, any time we were in the MK, he'd immediately start making pirate noises, or at least what he thought were pirate noises.

For me personally, I wouldn't take a kid younger than 5/6 or so. I don't really see the point. They aren't going to remember (Yes they remember for a short while but come back years from then and they won't remember that much) and I have a special loathing for strollers so if I can avoid dealing with one in a hot and crowded place, I will. Or at least having to lug around a diaper bag/all the stuff that comes with taking care of a baby and a stroller at the same time. (I love kids, love babies, but again, just not in hot and crowded places). But again, just my personal feelings. I don't have a problem with people taking young kids to Disney...as long as you don't run over my toes with a stroller ;)

Well if you bring someone under 4 then you are bringing them for you not them because they won't remember.

if that was true, then i must be really bored to be playing peek-a-boo for my own amusement, cause my kid's not gonna remember it when he grows up.

We started taking our kids at 3 and 5. It was a blast but as they got older they have enjoyed the trips more... It is so much fun watching them grow up loving all thing Disney.

i have no real-life experience with this, but im going to blindly say 3 or 4 years old. any younger than that and i think they would ruin WDW for ME haha...(im selfish ;)

i think my mother took me and my sister the first time when she was 3 and i was 5/6, and she had no major complaints!

here is my thing: each family is unique and different. as long as they feel comfortable, they can take their kids at any age. it is up to the family.

We took our son right before he turned 2 last year and he has talked about "The Castle", "Big Ball", and The Clock from IASW every day since the trip. I don't think a kid has to be older to appreciate the magic of WDW, because I saw it in my son's eyes the second we walked through the tunnel to Main St., or the first time he ran across the room to hug Mickey. No he can't ride any of the thrill rides, but at least for me going to WDW is no longer about what rides I can get on, it is more about seeing my child's reactions to these new amazing things that he can only see at WDW, that alone is worth the price of admission.

What do you feel is the perfect age (or nearly perfect) age to bring kiddos to WDW?

We've done both 8 months and 4 and 6, then 2, 6 and 7. I definitely think we're going to wait until my 2 year old is around 6! No strollers, NO diapers and can ride *most* of the rides! LOL

We waited until our kids were 5 and 7 for their first trip. Biggest factor was being out of strollers. It was the "perfect age" as far as we were concerned because they both still believed ALL the magic and were old enough to enjoy it, appreciate it, and remember it.
