Am I the only one who noticed that the Oscars are becoming a MAJOR disney commercial?! They are snowing La Nouba!!!

It's about time Randy got an Oscar. But I do think that Monsters Inc. should have beaten out Shrek. IMO it was a much better movie in all aspects.

I loved the shoe commercial. I was wondering where it was going (started out like a beer commercial) and then I thought maybe it was one of those diamond ads. But when I saw the shoe I knew it was Disney. It really got across (at least to me) that Disney isn't just for kids.

If they had this one for the Super Bowl it would have been one of the top commercials of the night.

I tip my hat (or ears I guess) to Disney for a job well done.

It wasn't just La Nouba. Different acts from all of Cirque's shows were there. I recognized the girl twirling the hula hoops and the man with the fire from Alegria.

Did anyone catch one of the presenters/speakers (don't know who he was) wearing what appeared to be Mickey hands (gloves)? But not the ones you can by in the park, so they did not look "trademarked". What was that about?

He's Nathan Lane, the voice of Timon. He must really like Disney, cause, as far as I can telll, he still is Timon, in the animated series and around the parks.

And what was the shoe's commercial? They don't show stuff like that here in Brazil, only the actual ceremony.

He has a contract with the company that covers all that stuff, and he gets paid plenty for it too.

That's right... from what I recognized: the music was from La Nouba, as well as the "Aerial Ballet in Silk" (the flying guy) and the Trampoline act (the guys walking on the walls)... The headless guy with an unbrella was from Quidam, as well as the inicial act (the acrobats jumping and throwing each others)... and the "bungee" guys from the last part were from "Journey of man"....
