Definitely not the vinyl. The head is completely the wrong shape/size. I agree it looks like the bank posted earlier.

It is planned as the second AP exclusive Vinylmation. The first is a Mr. Toad, and the second is Orange Bird. As of now, no release date for either has been set.

Simple things like this make me say..Take that Potter!
:lookaroun

Are you serious or being sarcastic?

If you are being serious...um...I for one am not a HP/Universal person at all..and also think that Disney will always be #1 over Universal for many reasons..but I really do not think that a little plastic bank of an orange bird is something to say "HA! Universal...let us see if Harry Potter Land or whatever is is..top that!!!!!"

If you were being sarcastic..well...ignore the being serious part above...:D

DOes anyone know the actual history behind this character, all I have been able to piece together so far is a bank sold somewhere in the early 70s. Was this a park chracter type thing or mroe of an homage to florida orages for tourists?

The Orange Bird was a character that Disney created for the Florida Citrus Commission as part of the deal for the Commission to sponsor the Sunshine Pavilion, which included the Sunshine Tree Terrace and the Tropical Serenade, which was the original name for the Tiki Room attraction at WDW. In addition to appearing in commercials for the Commission, the Orange Bird also appeared at the Sunshine Pavilion, both as a walkaround character and as a small figure who lived in the orange tree that used to be part of the Sunshine Tree Terrace decor. The Orange Bird has also been a somewhat popular character at Tokyo Disneyland.

It has been confirmed by multiple sources that the Orange Bird addition was in fact a result of the recent refurbishment- not just some CM's antics. :animwink: Let's hope that they bring back the fire to the torches above the Sunshine Tree Terrace... or any tiki torch in Adventureland for that matter.

OOOOOO!!! YAY!! I love the Orange Bird!

I think Disney realized they CAN use him, we're gonna get more stuff... Like the pins rleased in December, the AP Vinlmation coming out later this year, and other pins coming out soon!
