The "old" Splash Mountain queue...

Is the "old" queue entrance to Splash Mountain ever used anymore? It was located directly after the bridge between the shop and the first lift hill after the load area.

No. I don't believe it works with the way the separate Fastpass/Standby queues are laid out.

(And even in the pre-Fastpass days, I seem to recall that it wasn't used on very slow days)

Link to old queue? I don't know exactly what you're talking about...when I was there it was down for refurbishment, has that changed?

OH, that queue! Yea, it hasn't been used for a longlong time. The new one is better IMO.

Don't have a pic, this is best aerial angle I could get:

The red circle is the entrance to the queue, and you walked down a rocky "alley" in between the pond and the store (you can kinda make that out in the photo, the alley itself still exists)

It pretty much brought you down to where the queue entrance is now. Nowadays, there's a blue sign mounted to a pole in this location that says "Splash Mountain Entrance" with an arrow pointing to the right. This was the sign they would hang out there when they weren't using that entrance. Now it's bolted there permanently.

I recall using that entrance. But the line was extremely long. I just assumed it was used when the queue needed to increase capacity with out causing a traffic jam.

Yeah that queue, I remember using it way back when I was little at WDW, but the line was like 3 hours at the time.

I also recall that line. I also recall all the chewing gum stuck to the rocks! :hurl:

Haha, thought that queue was from a dream! Now I remember it was from when I was younger.

I used the old queue the first time I rode Splash, but it changed shortly after. All I remember was the tunnel type path and all the gum on the walls. Anyone have some pics?
