I was surprised at how they're all acting, around the middle of the book. They're all going out with each other and hating each other. It's really good though, I can't stop reading. I don't even want to think who dies in the book, so I'm hesitant to read more, but it's just so good so far.

Just finished reading it and I think this is my favorite of the books so far, despite some of what happens near the end. I have to say that I like all the little things that occur, that aren't necessarily crucial plot points(Luna's comments, for example). There are just so many cool little fun moments throughout that it really does help soften the blow when the serious stuff has to happen.

Easily the best book in the series! I actually felt like I was there and felt the emotions at the end. Next question.....When is book 7 coming out???????:D

I said I was going to read slow and "savor" it, but I'm already half way through it. Hell, I'd still be reading if my brother didn't steal it.

I'm not sure I ever want that one to come out because that means it is over. No more books to look for afterwards

After reading the book, I was rather stunned to discover that Harry doesn't really like magic and that he was never much of a wizard. He has decided to get a degree in accounting so he can help JK Rawlings manage the money.

Heading for the great escape.

Soiler

Just finished the book there Harry potter got caught selling smack and ended up in Feltham young offenders centre where he had an unfortunate accident in the potting shed.
Ive heard the next book is about his escape attempts and how he ends up being the daddy on e -wing thanks to his amazing use of a sock and a pool ball.

It won't be the last one.
As long as people are still buying them she will write another one.
I've said this from before the 5th book came out.

Isn't it true that J.K. agreed to write an 8th installment in this series, despite it supposedly ending at 7?

After reading this novel, I am surprised at how it ended. Hogwarts will never be the same. Harry will never be the same. Hermoine and Ron will probably happen, but at the last minute, upsetting us all.

*sigh*

I don't want it to end!

I think J.K. said she'd end it at 7, no matter what.
The thing is though, I'm not sure she can finish the whole story in one book. There are alot of things that Harry will have to do in the next one and it will have to be a very long book IMO to be able to fit everything in.

Yea I'm curious as to how she's going to fit it all into one book unless it's super book and ends up being another 300 pages longer then Order of the Phoenix, which is always possible and I personally wouldn't mind at all.

I'm pretty sure I heard that she was ending the story at 7 no matter what also

She said she would consider making an encyclopedia-type book with the things that she never added to the books. Simialr to FBaWtFT and QttA.

But it's been announced, hasn't it, that she was writing an 8th novel?

Not sure if it's in the "Harry Potter" series, but she said she was perhapsgoing to continue it, I thought.

I'm sure b/c of the popularity, she wouldn't just stop.

Something I read off of online:

Author JK Rowling is planning to write an eighth Harry Potter novel. The English novelist - currently adding the finishing touches to her sixth Potter book - had previously vowed to only create seven adventures about the magical wizard. But she now wants to add an eighth entry, featuring outtakes she has edited from the series so far. Rowling will donate all proceeds from the book to charity, and publishers estimate the "Harry Potter Encyclopedia" could make in excess of $18 million. But the 39-year-old insists she's ready to retire when the hugely successful series ends. Rowling, who has made an estimated $960 million from Harry Potter, says, "I think it highly unlikely I'll write more novels. I've got enough for seven books and I never meant to carry the story beyond the end of book seven."

From the pretty reliable IMDb.
