Last September was our first time there and we love it. I asked my wife if she wanted to try Riverside and she and the kids gave me an emphatic NO! We love that it's small, quiet, and so peaceful.
that sounds perfect! I was worried it would be super busy with riverside being right next to it. do they share busses?

I'm a little confused by this Free Dining Deal thread. Did people have a lower hotel rate already booked, and then get the dining added? I ask because we have annual passes and do not need the added 2 day passes that they say are required to receive the free dining with the hotel room. We are unsure of how to get the best rate for the free dining with annual passes.

Normally they have their own buses. However, during busy times they have been known to share. On our trip last September, we caught a bus from DtD back to the resort because lightning had closed the boats. Not only did we share with RS folks, but it was a pita getting onto the bus. I just about got into an altercation with a gentleman that wanted to cut in front of everyone, including my wife and kids.

I got up early, got ready for work then sat down and waited for 7, so I could call about the free dining. Was on hold for over an hour and had to leave for work. While I was on hold, I messed around with the online site and ended up booking a seperate trip in a Royal Room in POR for around $100 less than I was paying for POP. When I got home I cancelled my original reservation to POP, but was able to keep all my ADR's I had previously made. I am kind of excited to try a moderate and see how big a difference they are compared to a value resort.

The key is going before the crowds arrive. We've been early Dec and just before Thanksgiving. I think I liked Dec better just because everything was in full holiday mode by that point.
Yeah we've been the first week of Dec for my birthday and it was nice. But I don't know if the crowds are worth being there like nearer Christmas week or not. My DD went for NYE and said the crowds were pretty bad.

I got through... 10 minutes on the phone and BAM! $1350 in savings! But because the website sucks... I haven't been able to pay online. It says error where my balance should be

I've had friends go week before Christmas...the ones that don't go often were fine since I guess they've always been at crowded times, but the more frequent visitors described chaos. Last trip, we were there day before Thanksgiving and that felt very crowded, but just a couple of days earlier wasn't too bad.
