The New Disney Gift Card!

This wouldn't apply to the NYC World of Disney store since it is still owned by disney and not the children's place. It is so sad to see the dollars go, I loved getting them for gifts for the kids because they understand that it is money.

When this will be useful to me is when they allow it to be used for resort ressies and such. Sort of like a little Disney savings account.

Yes, I understand that they aren't going anywhere, but the stores now have the "option" to carry them or not and I bet most will not. I was also just pointing out that the WoD store in NYC wasn't owned by the children's place.

Considering that we have recently had huge sales of Disney Dollars at the Disney Store where I'm a Cast Member, I doubt they're going anywhere. I haven't been back since the introduction of the gift card, so I can't comment on how that has affected the sale of Disney Dollars.

Also, I doubt that individual Disney Stores will have any say whether or not they carry them. It will likely be a corporate all-or-nothing decision. Unless sales of Disney Dollars fall sharply because of the introduction of the Disney Gift Card, I don't see The Disney Store abandoning the Disney Dollar any time soon.
